Android's Dungeon, Thursday, Dec. 4
The thing about working for the CIA was that you stopped trusting certain things, like candy that randomly filled your shoes overnight. Which was why Sarah was in her office in the back of the store, using a handheld spectrometer to analyze every piece that had appeared. She didn't think anyone could have gotten past her security systems as she slept, but it never hurt to be too sure.
"Sugar, corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oil .... condensed milk, cocoa, whey, soy lecithin, orange extract, and artificial and condensed flavors," she read from the spectrometer screen. "Yep, it's a Tootsie Roll."
She popped the candy into her mouth and went to the counter, idly thumbing through a graphic novel as she waited for clients.
[OOC; Open, no OCD.]

So, there he was pushing open the door and walking in nonchalantly.
"Got the newest one about the guy with the cape?"
He had no fucking clue what he was talking about.

"Daisy's taking me bowling," she volunteered instead. "That's a hobby thing, right?"

Which made for an amusing mental image.

No, he did not.
"Surprised she'd say anything since I sucked so badly."

He wasn't.
"You got an interest in it? Karaoke, I mean."

Because he was oh so charming, you know.

Whether she meant he was pathetic or irresistible was open to interpretation.

"Would you believe I took an entire class in it?" she asked, a slight smile playing around her mouth. "And I did well."
[OOC; I so need to rewatch Chuck vs. the Seduction.]

Not so much the going home alone bits, actually, but the alternative was worse.

"I did have two decent dates though. How about you?"

He just shrugged in answer to the second question. "I've been to karaoke with a police officer. I think she just tolerates me."

"I think Daisy sees the good in everyone." As Sarah was concerned, that was a miracle in any cop.

He knew he probably wasn't but that didn't stop the ego and the talking. "You think there's good in me?"

Or at least, he didn't set her teeth on edge the way the truly evil did.

She still thought he was or had been a hit man; she just didn't think that was enough to make someone entirely evil.

"Do you think I could be?"

But if he wanted her dead, it would have happened by now. She knew that, too.

She leaned forward. "About talking sometime. Do you ever get to the mainland?" Because God knew she was not having this conversation anywhere near the squirrels.

She figured it went without saying that in the diner, he'd be surrounded by well-trained people with guns. And if he didn't know that, well, it wasn't her fault.
