Miss Lydia Bennet was not typically a girl who enjoyed walks as well as her sisters tended to; she was far more partial to shops filled with very luxuriant silks and trinkets that she could sometimes not afford but somehow found a means to purchase all the same. Although the town looked promising, she was, more or less, disappointed in its lack of fine milliners and hat shops and so had been reduced to a little leisurely stroll in the brisk air, where she shared a bit of a scone with some of the ducks scrambling along by the pond. Far from her ideal entertainment, but Lydia was glad for the fresh air and to be removed, at least for a little while, from the stifling company of her sister.
