When Hoshi got up that morning, she wasn't alone. And it didn't seem polite to leave that person sitting around her alcove all day, so Hoshi brought her to work. That got Gunther's attention.

	Gunther stared for a moment at the woman. A slow smile spread over his face. "Hoshi, who is your hot friend?"
	Hoshi looked warily at Gunther. "She's my data PADD. Don't ask me how, but when I woke up this morning, she came to life and reminded me that I volunteered to work today."
	"Data what?"
	"I am Hoshi's Personal Access Display Device," said the PADD. "Today is Saturday, July 11, 2009. I have a list of Japanese, Korean and Thai recipes to chose from for your daily special. The weather is..."
	"I think that is enough information for now," said Hoshi. "Oh, by the way, Gunther, what is going on with Miss Connell? I heard on the radio that she went out with that Jackie woman who's really Aphrodite."
	Gunther grinned. "She goes out with lots of pretty woman all of a sudden."
	"I believe there are more details in some of the radio podcasts you downloaded to listen to during your shift today," said the PADD.
	"Then I better get started on that. Gunther, can you handle the specials board today?" asked Hoshi.
	"Can your friend come to the kitchen with me and share some of her recipes?" asked Gunther with, waggling his eyebrows.
	"No," said the PADD. "Your time would be better spent baking a cake for Hoshi since you forgot about her birthday on Thursday."

Hoshi decided then and there that her PADD was awesome. And it wasn't so bad working on a Saturday when she got to eat birthday cake while her PADD helped her get caught up on two month's worth of radio broadcasts.
