Darren was starting to think that he was in hell. Certainly, he had to be in at least purgatory; he hadn't been able to find a decent wine shop or charming little cafe all week and now he was going to have to face his 'actors'. Pathetic. There were only two of them that he thought had any potential at all and yet, he was going to have to struggle through an entire rehearsal with the rest of these artless philistines.

God help him, he was never going to forgive Geoffrey for this. Mad or not.

"All right, people, all right, let's get started before we waste any time. I want to share my vision with you, right now, so that perhaps those of you who were lagging behind last week can attempt to understand my genius."

He then went on to describe, quite enthusiastically, a version of The Scottish Play done in the style of a rock opera, and it seemed very much as if he was going to place poor Himura in a costume that would have made Ziggy Stardust weep.

...oh, this was not going to be a good day, was it?

Geoffrey hadn't made much of a fuss with his return to the island; when he found out just how badly it had gone last week, he'd be glad of that. But he was already pretty horrified as he watched the rehearsal, how Darren was treating them, the kind of things he was suggesting. It was... it was sickening, it was a violation of the text and his actors.

He might have to take a flight up to New Burbage just to find Moira and throttle her for telling him this was a good idea.

But what was done was done, and when it came down to it, he had but one thing he felt he could do. Which, of course, involved taking one of the rapiers from the prop area and sneaking up behind Darren.

"Turn, hell-hound, turn."

Darren stiffened.

[Geoffrey has returned! And he's not too pleased with Darren, so in true madman style, he's going to duel him/go after him with a sword. As I'm writing both parties, I'm going to put up a section, wait for a little bit if some of the actors want to respond/cheer/shout, and then put up the next section. ...Geoffrey brought you a little goofy teddy bear thing from the hospital gift shop, Zack. We hope that's enough of an apology.

Who is considerably saner, no matter what he looks like, and VERY VERY sorry.

I hope you all enjoyed Darren's visit. He just needs some stabbing now ^_^

Ender wasn't outraged, but he made a note of the lack of muffins and settled, keeping a sharp eye on Darren.

...no muffins. There were no muffins.

Glinda twitched a little at the very thought. Rehearsal always meant muffins.

"GEOFFREY!" Glinda squealed. She briefly contemplated running over and hugging him, but there was the matter of a pointy implement in Geoffrey's hand, and Geoffrey's somewhat strained grasp on sanity that made her decide to just sit down and watch.

Joan Girardi

Joan was disappointed at the lack of muffins, but really she was hoping no one would get arrested this week.

Savannah Levine

Of course the bastard had held their muffins hostage.

This looked like it was going to be even worse than last week.

Being captain of the cheerleading squad, Savannah felt it was only her duty to cheer for Geoffrey.

"Yay, Geoffrey!"

He had no idea he had probably kept her from getting arrested this week.

Darren stumbled forward, spinning around to stare at Geoffrey and his very much un-buttoned rapier.

"Geoffrey, I realize you probably escaped from whatever hospital you were staying at, but this is ridiculous. Put the sword down. Let's talk."

Geoffrey swished the rapier through the air a few times before narrowing his eyes at Darren.

"I have no words: / My voice is in my sword: thou bloodier villain / Than terms can give thee out!"

Darren was realizing very quickly that Geoffrey would not be reasoned with.

"Geoffrey! There is no reason for this! I came here, I did what you asked me to do!"

Geoffrey was literally too angry for Shakespeare.

"Who do you think you're talking to, Darren, no you didn't. I came here, hoping Moira was right, hoping that you'd taken care of things while I was gone and all I see is your usual bullshit, stage-show antics! Now," and he tilted his head towards the prop rack, "for my theatre, for my actors: take a weapon and face me!"

Darren scrabbled at the bin before pulling out the only other rapier the theatre had and holding it out defensively.

"This is really very silly, Geoffrey."

"Oh shove it, Darren, you were going to use sequins in The Scottish Play!"

Savannah is very happy to see Geoffrey is back.

Gabrielle

No muffins.

No muffins?!?

Gabrielle was -- you know, "outraged" didn't begin to cover it.

"This is . . . catastrophic!"

Joan glanced at her watch and wondered how long it would be before the police showed up again.

Teddy bear thing!

Yes, Zack was clinging to it like a lifeline, thankful that he didn't have to spend future rehearsals trying to smuggle in muffins.

If any one good thing had come from the psycho man invading, it was that, at the very least, Zack now knew that his job had something-or-other to do with sets and costuming.
