new girl in a new town

It was a new place, this island of Fandom, but Lia imagined it would do her some good to live somewhere new for a while and discover what it was like to live in her own skin. She explored a little in her first day on the island, coming across a shop with "antiques" inside. Of course, all the things inside looked contemporary to her, if a little well-used, and she was amused at the concept of such things being referred to as vintage.

She gazed into the window, wondering if this particular place was in need of a proprietor.
