Parents' Weekend Cocktail Party, Town Hall [Saturday Evening]

The Student Council had broken out the fancy decorations for the town hall tonight. The parents and guests had received ~~handwavey~~ invitations at registration, to give them a chance to get away from their victims for a little while if they wanted to. The tablecloths were sharply pressed, the tables were arranged in an orderly fashion, and shiny gold seemed to be the color of the night, in the balloons and ribbons scattered around. There was a line of tables filled with finger food and, most importantly, an open bar for all who arrived.

[OCD is up, up and away! The invitations went to the guests but anyone can come and crash!]

There's tables and chairs if you want to sit, and plenty of standing room if you don't.

There's non-alcoholic beverages too, for those who don't feel the need for heavy drinking yet.

*gets out the popcorn*

Cocktail parties weren't exactly Billy's thing, but he figured Angie might want some space so he decided to attend. He wasn't big on the mingling, so he sort of hung around the edges of the room.

Spidercide was happy to get away from Reilly for a while. There were just too many chances to mess up a detail that would give him away, and even more opportunities to kill the guy. It was starting to wear thin.

So, sure, he'd come to the cocktail party, make small talk, and tell people he was Peter. Why not?

Free food and free booze. This really was turning out to be like a vacation. John took his glass from the bartender with a thanks and an appreciative look. All the people in this town were beyond pretty.

Hell, if he could manage to get laid at this event, he wouldn't have to give any more desperate looks to the botanist on Lorne's team.

Lord Gershom couldn't turn do the chance to try this world's wine. He took a sip as he watched the room. His clothes and sword looked unusual here, but it was hard to actually stand out at Fandom. He could appreciate that.

Jack, still in his service dress, figured he'd stop by the party after dinner at Outback. Cocktail parties weren't really his thing, but since he was dressed up ANYWAY... what the hell.

Jack stopped and blinked. Oh, whatever. He walked over. "Why is it that this island keeps coming up with a DIFFERENT John Sheppard every few months?"

"General O'Neill, sir!" Ronon couldn't have warned him about this? "May I ask, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, at ease, Colonel," Jack sighed. "I'm on leave, and I'm from a different universe than you anyway. Probably. The only reason I'm in uniform is 'cause there was this... thing."

John was most decidedly not in uniform. Unless the USAF had gone to jeans, shirts, and jackets out of serious desperation. "A thing? Anyone from SG-1 in town with you?

Having survived the day ~~let's assume~~, Jacen knew he probably wouldn't be left on his own for too long, but that was all right. At the moment he had a drink he hadn't touched, and found somewhere to stand and look all thoughtful.

Once again, Cor found himself facing a table of food, where he partook of several things he didn't recognize from home.

[again with the afk until 10:30 EST or so. damn you, work.]

"Teal'c's in town -- from yet a third universe, might I add -- and I just had a... nice... dinner with him, my clone, my clone's girlfriend, and her mother." He raised an eyebrow at Sheppard. "I'm assuming you're here for Dex? Because if you're not, you're in the entirely wrong galaxy."

"Yeah, Ronon's off hanging here while we're getting the star drive back online. But wait, your clone has a girlfriend? Tell me she's like, forty or something?" John was instantly skeeved.

"Yeah, I know, I was weirded out at first, too, but... Have you read the mission report? The kid's got all of my memories in a sixteen-year-old body. With sixteen-year-old hormones." He sighed. "I guess she likes older men?"

"See, and I'd think he'd be running after all the professors - have you seen the ladies in this town?" Yes, even John was impressed.

Jack raised his eyebrows. "I've been here a while. I've got eyes. But unlike you and Mitchell, I can keep it in my pants."

Jack couldn't help eyeing the beard from a little ways away. Seriously, the guy looked like he was in ZZ Top or something.

Well, of course Edlin had shown. Being the eldest son of a Great House meant that he was used to such gatherings. Though the ones back home never boasted such a curious array of all sorts of people. It was quite refreshing, truly.

"Hey, six months trapped on the wrong side of an event horizon with the children of the corn cloister does not count as lack of control," John argued. He'd read O'Neill's mission reports.

Alejandra wasn't planning on staying long - she'd rather spend more time meeting Griff's friends, but she came in to look around and get herself a glass of wine.

Luke hadn't exactly flown across a galaxy to end up at another reception, but he supposed that the people here would be markedly more interesting than the same group of politicians he'd come to know over the decades.

Jaina was here because she wanted a drink. And wanted to make sure nothing went horribly wrong anywhere. That would also by why she wanted the drink.
