The Boards - DRESS REHEARSAL! - Tuesday, 12/1

Geoffrey had been drinking coffee for... longer than is really healthy to be drinking coffee when you were someone like Geoffrey Tennant. He'd been checking on the work Morgan had been doing (except the flies because, well, he didn't exactly have a fear of heights, but he had a healthy respect for them and the fact that he startled easily at times), looking in on the sets, making sure the costumes didn't scare anyone, and generally buzzing about.

Two days. They opened in two days!

[OCD UP!][sorry for the later, TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!]

Ahahahahah. Oh god. Dinah always forgot how nervous she got right before these things. What if she tripped? What if she forgot her lines? What if she and Sam bumped skulls and knocked each other out in the middle of a romantic scene? Aahhhhh!

In the meantime she was nibbling on a muffin, eyes huge.

Sophie approached Morgan, looking conspiratorial. "Well? Did you finish the modifications?" she asked, looking hopeful.

Robin loved his costume! He was bouncing with excitement, rarin' to go.

He wasn't scared yet. That would happen at the actual performance.

"Hi Dinah! Isn't this exciting?"

"Uh-hunh," Dinah mumbled, looking anxious. "It's great. Awesome." She twisted her fingers together and sighed. "Why do I sign up for these things?"

Jack wasn't nervous, but he was tense with anticipation. Costume in place, he paced backstage as he waited for his entrance.

He pulled a curtain away from what looked like a a set of rather sturdy backless steps and tipped his head up.

"It's a glorified ladder, but I figured it would work. The space over the audience area and the backstage... it wasn't too much work, but there's a door, I did some paint" in nice neutral colors "and I put in a carpet. No furnishing, but I figure that's your business."

Yeah, he's picked up on certain things, thank you very much.

"There was more room up there than I think you realize. He's pretty much got an apartment. I even reconnected some plumbing that'd been set up so he's got a small bathroom and a shower. No tub."

He wasn't a miracle worker, after all.

"I can take you up, if you like."

"Please!" Seriously, Castiel might be the angel, but Sophie was ready to nominate Derek for sainthood right now.

He laughed, looked around to make sure Geoffrey was elsewhere, and started trotting up the steps. They held under him, even as he did, so obviously they were pretty sturdy.

At the top, he opened a wooden door and held it for her.

"Take a look."

The carpet wasn't the most expensive, but if was cushy and soft enough. The space was roughly the size of the audience area, with nooks for a bathroom and a tiled area.

"I didn't put in a kitchen, but it's possible."

The walls were basic beige, the carpet was a dark brown, and there was only one window, but it was definitely better than a closet.

"Not a bad job, if I say so myself."

Ender was... pretty much a cloud of Zen. He usually was, though, so that was hardly a new thing.

Really, Sophie had to give him a kiss on the cheek for this, she was so pleased. "It's wonderful! Derek, you are a genius.A million times better than the place he's bunking in now." Or living with her indefinitely; just far too soon for that, and she liked her space. "I can't possibly pay you enough for this, Derek. And a kitchen would be overkill, he never concentrates long enough to cook anyway. If he gets a microwave and a mini-fridge he'll be fine." Sophie started to pace out the confines of the loft, then had to stop and admire the whole space. "Lord, he won't know what to do with himself. He spends most of his time out in the main theater anyway, but I feel much better about him actually living here now that the space is-- well. Livable."
