Mary was worried. Mike had left abruptly yesterday morning without saying a word. She tried calling him, but his calls were going straight to voice mail.
So as she went through her paperwork at the front desk, she kept jumping every time her cell phone rang. But the Christmas carol that had somehow become her ring tone quickly became annoying. The same carol was playing on radio, in the elevator, and just about everywhere else she turned.
