Normally, this should be over by now.

Ender was slightly puzzled to wake up to find he still had a pair of breasts and, supposedly, an extra x-chromosome, but he hadn't panicked much. Maybe Fandom had finally lost it and gone permanent on these things, in which case it would be a lot easier for him to go incognito back home in the future. Maybe it was just lasting a little longer. Maybe there was going to be some epic quest to turn them all back.

Whatever it was, work still had to be done.

Though it had to be noted that he wasn't much amused by the fact that the store chose that day to start leaving melons everywhere.

"Ho, Ender," Ben said in a decidedly higher pitched voice than usual, holding out a cup of coffee.

"Stuck like this, too?" Ender asked, wryly (and rolled a melon out of the way so he could see the coffee).

"Yeah," Ben said, making a face. "My entire center of gravity is off. I almost sliced my foot with my lightsaber today."

"So don't do lightsaber practice when you're a girl," Ender said, practically, and reached for his coffee. "You don't see me hitting the machines when I'm like this."

"If this is less the island being insane and more a first wave of an invasion, I want to know what my limits are," Ben, ever paranoid, replied.

"Understandable," Ender said, "If you were using a practice lightsaber. As it is, having you remove your foot is going to be pretty bad if this is an invasion."

"Not to mention embarrassing," Ben added. "But I haven't used a practice lightsaber since I was eight."

Jedi were amazing parents.

"All the more reason," Ender said, after a beat, "To use one again if your sense of balance has radically shifted, considering."

Ben smiled. "I don't even have one," he admitted. "I should probably make one."

"Or use a stick. I hear those are useful, too."

Ender, stop mocking the poor boy.

"I won't give you your lunch," Ben threatened.

"I have melons," Ender pointed out.

He might look like a girl, but under the body was a sixteen year old guy.

Ben burst out into semi-hysterical laughter. "I'd noticed. Don't let Karla see: she'll get upset that they're bigger than what she normally has."

"Substantially so," Ender said, unruffled, "But I'm not here to make her more insecure. I do have actual ones, though - whimsy strikes again."

"And they're very nice," Ben said, talking about...well, one set or another of melons.

"And a good substitute for lunch, if you're going to be petty about it. Unless you want to stare at them some more."

Ben tilted his head as he thought about that. "I think Tahiri would get upset," he decided.

"Ah," said Ender, "Option A it is. How predictable."

"Which would you prefer?" Ben asked. "A melon examining contest? I think mine are better."

Ender grinned. "Unfortunately," he said, solemnly, "I am not that interested in melons. Especially not yours."

"You're afraid you'll lose," Ben decided. "I get it."
