"Monday, Monday," Jack sang along with the music, which was being provided by yet another new DJ, "so good to me--"

As far as songs of the day went, this one was fairly on the nose.

The Devil's Nest was open. No one should mention Rebecca Black near Tiny.

Where the vampire dwelled.

We're in the middle of Curious George marathon at my house right now. Livin' the dream, or something...

Eric was in his usual spot, a glass of blood nearby and his phone in his hand. He was planning a trip to Shreveport soon and wanted to be caught up on the pertinent gossip.

Mondays apparently were a coin toss as to whether Jaina would bug Jake or whoever was at the Devil's Nest, and today this place won out. And noting the phone in Eric's hand again, she said, "I'm beginning to think you're worse than me with that thing. And that's saying something."

"I'm asleep all day," Eric said, sounding a little grumbly. "I need to catch up."

On Tetris.

"And you sound so happy about it. Does that mean you're not up for company?" she asked.

"And Pam beat my high score on Angry Birds yesterday," Eric tacked on with a smile, putting the phone down. "I'm all yours."

Hot guys should never tell girls that, fyi.

Jaina had to laugh, taking a seat. "Well, this makes you the first vampire I've ever known who would admit to playing Angry Birds. It's nice to know you make such good use of the time you're awake."

"I'm a fast typist," Eric told her. "Do you need a drink?"

"Yeah. Vodka tonic," she decided after a pause. "It's been that sort of week."

Eric signaled to Tiny, then took a sip from his glass. "Already? It's only Monday."

Yeah, the blood-drinking was still weird to her. She reminded herself that that was probably the synthetic stuff, which made it better. Hopefully it was the synthetic stuff. "I'd say it was that kind of weekend, but I think it's still continuing, so for the purposes of me needing the drink, I'm counting my week from Friday," she explained. "It makes perfect sense to me."

"Well as long as it makes sense to you," Eric said teasingly. "What happened Friday?"

"Realizing how long I have left here, with family worries- sort of- on top of that... Nothing bad, it just means I like not spending all my time in my apartment," she told him. "So apparently I come to bother you."

"You haven't bothered me yet," Eric said. "Just don't beat my Angry Birds score."

"Please. Now I'm going to make it a goal," she smiled. She wasn't teasing, though. She was totally going to try.

"You really are searching for things to do," he said.

"I get bored easily and there's only so much training I can do in a day," she nodded. "If you'd like to keep your score and offer other suggestions, I'm listening."

"Well, I sleep for half of the day," Eric offered.

Or else he bled from the eyes and ears and it was very unattractive.

"Yeah, that's not an option for me," she decided, shaking her head. "I don't know how you get anything done with limited hours. Besides being concise and a fast typist."

"And I'm scary," Eric said with a slow smile. "Most people don't want to make me unhappy. It leads to less runaround."

Much as she liked him, she didn't doubt anything he said. "I can just imagine what the runaround gets them."

Eric's answering grin was decidedly toothy. "They don't do it twice."
