The Park, Saturday Evening

It seemed someone would never escape from giving impromptu concerts in the park after something bizarre happened. Which was good for everyone else!

While the Holograms weren't there with her, Jem could still give one darn good show for this little island! Who wouldn't be thrilled to be a part of that? She was a singing sensation thanks to the powers given to her by Synergy!

It made perfect sense!

So here she was, performing her hit single: Truly Outrageous!

Look at me, in a different role
Trying out a brand new part.
Don't you worry baby
I know I'll never have a change of heart!

It's Truly, Truly Outrageous
Truly, truly, truly Outrageous (A fantasy)
Bein' anyone I wanna be,
And on top of it all, you're here with me!

Oh!
It's Truly, Truly Outrageous
Truly, truly, truly Outrageous (A fantasy)
Bein' anyone I wanna be,
And on top of it all, you're here with me!

Oh, oh, (It's truly, truly
Outrageous) You're here with me
(Truly, truly, Truly Outrageous) A fantasy
(It's truly, truly, outrageous) Contagious
And on top of it all, you're here with me
Ooh!

And there was a giant half-metal mutant with a small child riding on his shoulder, watching.

"DAD!" the small child was hollering enthusiastically.

"Yep," the giant half-metal mutant said, dryly.

"GRAPH," Jan chimed in, clapping. She'd woken up, seen the weird lady where her dad used to be, and gone by the unfailing laws of logic that Fandom had imparted on her during her short years there.

That kid was going to be so messed up later in life.

"Nice to see you again, Jem," Nate deadpanned. "She's happy to see you, too."

Okay, Warren could probably get over the fact that all of his clothing this morning had involved a lot of acid wash jeans with holes in them. And neon. Lots and lots of neon, which he had steadfastly ignored in favor of a nice, simple tank top. Just so long as he was still capable of flying (which he was), he was totally fine with this.

For now, Warren and his shredded jeans and his tank top with the holes cut in the back to account for his wings were going to light by the park, to figure out what in the world was going on, here.

... That was totally an 80s hair band, wasn't it? Or at least the one-woman-act version of one?

"Okay. Whatever's going on, it's totally not so bad, after all."

It took a lot of willpower to keep from using words like 'bogus.'

"And you have massive hair," Warren replied, because if we were going to be saying things that were completely redundant, he was going to get in on that.

He folded his wings behind himself a little self-consciously, all the same.
wwiii: (I've gotts a point.)

"... What?"

Well, he'd met other people with image inducers, so it only stood to reason, right...?

"No, they're about as real as it gets. Shouldn't they be?"

"Um... if you want to."

Did she have any songs about angels?

"I'm not really an angel, you know."

Just throwing that out there!

Oh dear god. Next she would start singing about piles of unmanned clothing strewn about, or something.

Warren took a few steps back. At least she didn't have a horrible voice?

"That's, uh, very nice."

"Well, I don't really have anything on me that can be autographed," Warren replied, trying to keep the slight feeling of mounting horror from his expression.

Angels in the park, indeed.

"Fresh out, I'm afraid."

WARREN DARED TO BE DIFFERENT, JEM. DIFFERENT.

That statement earned her Warren's most polite 'Oh God, I have no idea who you are' smile.

He was trying very much to not be obvious about that fact, yes.

"It's an honor to be able to meet you in person like this," he replied. Because... Because he was kind of afraid that the hair was going to come alive and eat him, mostly. He'd been born in the 90s. This was the sort of thing that he read about on the internet, and didn't really believe that people actually ever did.

Oh, how wrong he'd been.

"Warren," came his reply. And really, he wasn't backing away slowly or anything. He was just getting out of the smackdown radius of that hairdo.

It was kind of a wide radius, was the thing.

Warren was not going to point out that it had taken him all of three minutes to fly here from the dorms. He wasn't. Honest.

"Wow, you'd do that for me? That's... really something."

He was truly thrilled, Jem. Truly.

"Yep. Totally the biggest. Really sorry I didn't have something for you to sign, though."

Honest!

"I, uh, hope your concert goes really well?"

He should have fled when he had the chance.
