The Devil's Nest, Saturday, 6/4

Your bartender was very much herself today, thank you -- though somewhat confused by the fact that the door was unmanned, Tiny was nowhere to be seen, and there was a guy who looked like Russell Brand playing the ukelele in the DJ booth.

If only Bo had been on the island long enough to recognize One Of Those Nights before it was happening around her.

Lancelot was not having the best day so far. He'd woken up in a strange bed, surrounded by strange things that made noise at him.

Luckily, he'd had his swords and made short work of them.

So, he had that going for him. Which was nice.

"What is that noise?"

Would you mind if Cinderella hears the music and decides this is the prince's ball tonight?

"Is that even possible?" Legit question from the Roman, Bo. Legit.

He had no idea what any of that was, to be honest. But he wasn't about to out and just say that. "Yes," he decided instead. "I believe it might."

After several hours of weeping and a visit from a magical old woman, Cinderella was finally prepared for the ball. She was wearing the most beautiful dress and her feet--her incredibly, possibly unhealthily tiny feet--were encased in a pair of delicate glass slippers, just perfect to dance in for hours and hours.

"Stop the coach! Stop the coach!" she called as she heard the music coming from a building. It wasn't the castle she could see on the hill, but perhaps they had moved the ball? "This is it!"

Gus the footman came down to open the coach door and escorted Cinderella to the door. Taking a deep breath, Cinderella stepped inside on her own and looked around in wonder.

Picking up the glass, Lancelot gave it a cautious sniff to confirm it was indeed alcoholic. And barely even watered down!

"You seem very confident about that," he said, taking a sip.

...yup. That was. New. Very new.

"It's interesting," he wheezed, forcing the drink on down. He was a soldier of Rome. This was nothing.

There was not enough Southern Comfort-spiked True Blood in the universe to make this excuse for music bearable.

God, Eric missed Bubba.

After running into Leia, Jaina knew there was potentially something weird going on. So hell yes, she was here to see whether or not it had affected Eric this time. But first...

"What is that noise and how do you make it stop?"

Important questions for the ages.

"Are you still you or do I have to come back on Monday?" Jaina greeted him, forcing herself to ignore the music.

"Why wouldn't I be me?" Eric asked.

You missed things when you slept through the day.

There he was.

Cinderella had never seen Prince Charming before, but the handsome man, brooding in solitary splendor, simply had to be him. If one were to be honest, Cinderella had hoped that he would perhaps notice her, maybe while bowing to another lady and spotting her out of the corner of his eye, but the prince seemed rather aloof. Cinderella wasn't sure if she were really brave enough to go make his acquaintance--wasn't it enough just to be here, tonight?--but then, wasn't just standing in the shadows a waste of a visit of a fairy godmother?

And so, greatly daring, Cinderella went over to the velvet ropes and dropped a deep curtsy. "Good evening, Your Highness," she whispered.

That was a lot of dress.

Eric glanced up and arched his eyebrows. "I'm a Sheriff."

"I think there might be something up today. I haven't figured out what yet," she said. "Darn, guess this means I just have to say hello to you as you now."

Wasn't it beautiful? Even better than the one that her mice and bird friends had sewn in an afternoon!

But Cinderella was a bit confused about what he'd meant right there. "I'm sorry," she said. "I thought you were Charming...?"

Jack hadn't made it out of his hotel room until after sunset, so he had no idea the island was in a mood. He knew, however, that he was in one.

Better not to give himself time to dwell. Even if Sebastien was on his way to India with god-knows-who as an escort, and he wasn't sure he could go back to school in the fall, and he'd broken his friends a little more, and --

He dragged himself away from that train of thought and made himself smile, even if it was a bit painful.

"Tonic water," he said wearily. "And why is there ukelele music tonight?"
