Devil's Nest [Saturday night]

Eric had heard about Bo's transformation and be assured he'd be laughing his ass off at her when she eventually turned back into herself, but for now, he made sure that the club was up and running tonight for those who were not in the mood for karaoke.

Eric believed in healthy competition, which was why he'd added the sign to the front door that proclaimed the Devil's Nest forever karaoke-free.

The club was open and a little heavy on the Swedish pop hits tonight. Eric liked what he liked.

That would be Kenzi, come to enlighten him about Bo. If he didn't already know. He might, but...

"Hi, are you the boss?" Kenzi grinned, and rocked on her toes, then drew a teeny-tiny Bo out of her front pocket. "Bo and I are here to serve drinks!"

Kenzi was about to lie, then she took another look at the guy, and remembered wondering if Bo could tell if she was lying. If this guy could... "No, but Bo is. So I can just be her hands!" Look! Cute fuzzy thing!

Kenzi gave him an incredibly sad look, and put Bo down to sniff at the counter and stare at Eric with little dark eyes. "How about a free drink? For me and Bo?"

Kenzi studied him, not sure if she could push this, or how far, but hey, a tentative tiny step... "A Diet Coke for me, and a rum-and-Coke for Bo? A tiny one! She's an adult. Just wee."

Kenzi was about to object but then realized that tall cute and grim might actually have a point. She gave Bo a worried look, picking her up to peer into her face. "You wouldn't do that, would you?"

Squeak!

"...Diet Coke it is," she sighed, disappointed.

Kenzi had now moved on from that disappointment to her own curiosity, and was studying him. "So you're a vampire, right? Bo said so."

Also, that they were friends. Ahem. Friends.

"Are you a Kenzi-vore? Do you eat people?" Which would have sounded more obnoxious, if Kenzi's hand hadn't been cupped around Bo, body ready to run run run. She didn't think Bo would hang out with a bad guy, but... women did stupid things for the guys they were friends with.

"Not into that," Kenzi said very quickly, picking up her Diet Coke and taking a big slurp. "Just to put that on the table." Curiosity still there though. Watching the teeth.

Which looked exactly what it sounded like, red and viscous in his glass.

"They can do that?" Kenzi marveled. "Is it magic?" She sipped her drink again, and fed a few bar peanuts to Bo. Which brought up thoughts of what Bo had said about 'friends who didn't die' and... okay! Reciprocal. Even-steven. Got it.

"Thousands?! Wow." So much for the 'did you know Dracula' question. 'Cause, totally possible. Kenzi contemplated Eric on the scale of 'poke him 'til he growls', and decided to quit while she was ahead. Or even. Something. "So okay then! Thank you for the wonderful Diet Coke!"
