Devil's Nest, Tuesday Evening

Emma couldn't deny she was happy to be far, far away from wherever-that-had-been. It was much easier to breathe without an insane rock whispering in her brain.

She was here at work tonight, Eric's sign from last night still on the door. Why not? She thought it was funny.

The Devil's Nest was open, music blaring, and the hostess is about somewhere.

"I didn't, but I'll take you to Eurodisney if you want," Jack offered gallantly. "As for on the island itself? A few more nights out, some time with friends now that no one's ill ... I, Miss Frost, am a man of simple tastes."

He was a man who was full of crap, but the truth was, he didn't have any particular plans.

"You can, so long as you wear a hat with ears for me," she bargained. "It's Disney, from what I've heard, it's required." Emma had never been to Disney; Winston declared it too plebeian for a family vacation.

"We ought to see if Sookie and Bobby want to come along, or Karla and Warren. It could be fun."

"If it took him this long to craft a new identity, he's doing it wrong," Emma quipped. "What new name will you have to learn to call him now?"

...hopefully Jack got to keep his name. Emma would be most put-out if he had to change it because of vampire shenanigans.

Jack bristled the tiniest bit at the quip -- decent papers took some time -- but let it slide. "John Nast," he answered. "An Englishman. Aged 42. I think he was trying to pick a name no one would glance at twice, since Sebastien de Ulloa stands out a touch."
