The Park [Tuesday Afternoon]

The park was a nice place to be. Open spaces, crazy ducks in the pond, picnic tables. Apparently the trees were good places to hang out as well.

Seifer was there, sitting on top of a picnic table under a tree, just watching the ducks. No, he wasn't avoiding people, not at all.

Squall wandered up and silently leaned against the tree. Just watching the ducks, that was all. Oh, and glaring at Seifer grumpily.

There were going to be words, in a few moments, but he had to figure out what they were going to be, first.

Seifer was just going to sit right here on the picnic table and completely ignore Squall.

And that crazy squirrel wearing a trench coat in the tree that almost looked like one of those weird flasher guys they showed on the news.

Squall cleared his throat. "There will be no more texting about the weekend," he ordered. "Or twittering. Or gloating of any kind. I realize it's just a funny joke to you, but real people's feelings have been hurt."

Seifer didn't even bother trying to deny it. Even when the whole fucking island was flipped over and turned inside out, he was still made out to be the bad guy.

"Yes, sir, Commander sir."

He'd finished that bottle Kenzi gave him way to fast. He was going to have to find more.

"This isn't a joke!!!"

Squall sighed and facepalmed. "...Fine, then I'm asking you. Politely. Please stop making light of it. It's hard enough coming to terms with this weekend without having to deal with your teasing."

"Making light of it?" Seifer pushed up off of the table and turned to glare at Squall. His voice rising with each word.

"You really think I'm making light of the fact that someone or something fucked with my head again and had me doing stuff I would never do? Fucking Hyne, Squall. Just how fucking much do you hate me to think I would screw over Rinoa or Karla like that?"

He hadn't yelled before with Rinoa, but he was definitely yelling now, and shaking with the rage he was feeling.

Squall blinked at Seifer in confusion, and then calmly pulled out his phone, called up Seifer's text, and showed it to him.

'Puberty Boy. Sex wasn't bad. Sry I slept w/ur gf too.'

"Yes, I think you're making light of it. And I DON'T APPRECIATE IT."

Kenzi hadn't brought booze this time, but she did bring cookies. "Hey, dude. We going to blow more shit up?" Yay! New friends with superpowers! Power through the awkward and out the other side to explosions!

"I have called you Puberty Boy since before we even hit it, Commander," Seifer growled out. "And I was apologizing and giving you a fucking compliment at the same time, because I know how Hyne-damned emo you get about shit like that."

Seifer clenched his fists, fighting the urge to throw a few fire spells at Squall's head. "Trust me, if I was going to make light of the situation, I'd be giving out every damn detail to anyone who would listen, and making sure to embellish anything that would embarrass you."

Because that is just what he did when he didn't care about someone.

Cookies were okay, but Seifer really needed booze. "Nah, but I can introduce you to the big guy if you want," he told her as he reached for the cookies.

"I want!" Kenzi grinned, and got out her iPhone. "Think he'd mind a picture? I just want to have proof I'm not crazy, later." She nibbled on her own cookie, and settled in, looking hopeful.

Seifer nodded and closed his eyes. The air around him shimmered a bit, and then Seifer looked over Kenzi's shoulder and grinned.

Behind her was a rather large, beast looking creature with horns (http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/2/24/Ifrit_FFVIII.jpg). His arms were folded across his chest, and he just smirked down at Kenzi.

"Kenzi, meet Ifrit."

Kenzi turned. And screamed at the topic of her lungs. While shooting a picture.

Seifer doubled over laughing, while Ifrit just rolled his eyes and made a muttered comment about humans.

No, Seifer wasn't about to repeat the part that wasn't in Common language.

"Don't worry, he's not going to hurt you."

"Better not. I know people!" Kenzi threatened the really huge guy who could EAT HER IN TWO BITES. "They would avenge my death!... please don't make them have to do that," she said in more moderate tones, then turned and whapped Seifer for laughing. "Dude! You could've warned me he's the size of a tree!"

The guardian just rolled his eyes and leaned against a tree, which made a slight cracking noise as he did.

Seifer just took the hit in stride. "Because it ruins half the fun. Be glad I don't have Shiva, she is literally one cold bitch. And Bahamut... bad ass dragon bigger than the school."

Kenzi took a breath, gulped, and nodded. Then waved. "Hey, Mr. Huge Badass Ifrit. We kind of already met. But, uh. I'm Kenzi." She paused. "Cookie?"

Ifrit shook his head and snagged a passing rabbit, much bigger than that cookie, and tossed it in his mouth.

Seifer just shuddered and reached for another cookie. "At least cook it first."

"Groooooss, Ifrit. I'm with Seifer. You don't know where that bunny has been. Or if it's been infected with Fandom crazy. Also, bunny." Although if it came down to the bunny or Kenzi, she'd be tossing them into this guy's maw. She gave Seifer another cookie. "So how did you two hook up?... in a totally non-weekend sense."

Seifer blinked at her and then shuddered, hard. "I kicked his ass," he glared at Ifrit when the being snorted and muttered something about letting him win, "with Shiva, and he agreed to let me be one of the lucky ones to call on him."

There was a lot of weird shit about junctioning and 'joining', but Seifer wasn't going to get into that.

"The ice bitch, right," Kenzi said, trying to keep track of all this. "So, wait, is she inside your head too, or did she move out?"

"She moved on to someone who was more her style, more uptight and frigid like her. She and Squall get along quite well."

Really, they did. She liked Squall best.

Kenzi gave Seifer a sardonic look. "Tell us how you really feel. Hey, Ifrit, pose!"

Ifrit's idea of posing was to raise an eyebrow and make a rude gesture.

"It's the truth. Shiva tends to literally leave other people cold, but it just rolls off of Squall. Kinda like how my body temp runs really warm when I'm junctioned to the big guy here."

That was pretty much Kenzi's idea of posing too. "I'm putting you on Youtube, dude."

She tilted her head at Seifer. "So does this have to do with you being a knight or something? Do you have a sword? Or is it like being Paul McCartney?" She was trying to remember where she'd heard Squall's name. Eh. She'd figure it out at some point.
