Trooper Station, Friday

It was a somewhat melancholy Watts in the station today, though there wasn't really time to dwell on said melancholy, at least. Much like the mayor yesterday, his day was spent filling in and filing various pieces of paperwork related to the island's week-long jaunt, especially in regards to that last fight.

Needful Things; Friday

Harley just wanted listen to some music while she did what she was doing at the store that Friday. That was all, a real simple request if she said so herself.

But the radio was only playing Motorhead's Ace of Spades. If she changed the channel, the song just started again from the top. If she let it play all the way through to the end, it just played again.

When she turned off the radio and put an absolutely non-Motorhead CD into the stereo? Ace of Spades.

A vinyl? Ace of Spades.

A fucking 78 on the fucking phonograph? Ace of Spades but make it jazzy.

Harley let out a string of curses - and continued working on the glitter bomb trap she was making.

The Ink Spot, Friday, August 16, 2024

There were small Indian and Pakistani flags on the counter today to celebrate their independence days this week, and Flint was paging through a new book today--Human, All Too Human by a man called Nietzsche--and enjoying the quiet.

He wouldn't hate an interruption: a month without a crisis for him to deal with had left him feeling itchy and unsettled.

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

"Protestors."

Beat.

"Protesting... what?"

Another pause.

"Noise pollution? It's a club in central Baltimore!"

Some days, being an owner of multiple clubs was a joy. Some days, it left Lucifer pacing up and down the Nest, ignoring Tiny as he barked his annoyance into a phone.

The club was open.

Stark Industries [Friday, 16/8]

Mariner...had an actual repair today.

Although trouble shooting was causing her some problems. "So it just exploded? Just like that?"

Look, it wasn't like she was unfamiliar with technology exploding. That one model of console was the worst, but even then, those didn't just randomly explode. There was usually a reason.

"You weren't caught up in some kind of epic space battle? Or someone rerouted power through it? Anything?"
