Vincent was currently involved in what could easily be described as "COOK ALL THE THINGS". Spending a week having to be cautious of a tyrannical regime had lead to some serious cooking withdrawal for him, and he had a whole freezer full of high quality ingredients to make use of.

He's quite pleased to have everything back to normal.

Vincent is not suffering any ill effects from the week, cooking withdrawal aside.

Really, the peril almost reminded him of home.

"All the food!" Kenzi proclaimed. "ALL OF IT. I WANTS IT."

"Well, now, there's a healthy appetite," Vincent declared. "Any favorites? Themes? Because let me tell you, 'all the food' is enough to feed the entire island a couple times over."

"Let's start with unhealthy and work our way up to, hmm, salty, sweet, and fattening. Oh! Something with really good bread, that sourdough kind, or, um, the best cheese," Kenzi said, already salivating. "And onion rings or fries or a blossom thing, something modern and not at all healthy or related to anything goddamn British."

She was off the British this week.

Vincent considered this for a moment. "How do you feel about French?" he asked. "I have some very high quality sheep cheese that would be delightful with the sourdough, and I could do a deep friend onion in just about any shape you want."

"Oui! French! Nom nom nom and, hmm." Kenzi considered a moment, then grinned. "Could you make it in the shape of an explosion? I'm gonna miss all the C-4."

"A challenge!" Vincent was delighted. He hadn't gotten to try out his onion sculpting skills in ages. "Sure thing, sweetie. How about a milk shake to start you off while I get cooking?"

Kenzi chuckled evilly, then nodded hard. "That Mexican chocolate one you made me the first time I was here? Comfort food is on order today. This week. You know, for as long as we want it."

"Agreed," Vincent said. "Last week was just heartbreaking." He'd gotten down to only one last tomato. Tragedy!

"Did you get hurt or locked up?" Kenzi asked, sympathetic. "... I know the food sucked. I swear, That Woman. If she'd just fed us, I might not have rebelled! I'm not a violent person!" Said with a totally straight face.

And, you know. If Umbitch had allowed music. Smoooochies. Things that made life worth living! Everyone had their breaking points.

"Oh no, nothing like that. But she cut off almost all my supply lines. I couldn't even get any well aged cheddar in here!"

"Dude. What did cheddar ever do to her?" Kenzi demanded. "Honestly. Why be evil if you can't have fun with it? I'm glad you didn't get hurt, though."

"How 'bout you, honey? Sounds like you made it through okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. I didn't get caught, people had my back. Had to beat up a couple, which, fun at the time, gonna be awkward today. But really, working against a crazy dictator? You just can't take it personally."

Once you've decided your effed-up parents are Not the Boss of You, no one else's craziness registers as much.

"I know just what you mean," Vincent said. "We had our share of crazies back home." Less "crazy dictator" than "mad scientist" or "misguided military professional", sure, but the same principles applied, if you asked Vincent. "Sometimes you've just got to keep your head down and help out where you can."

Kenzi pointed at him. "Exactly. Although I still want someone to explain how the hell it all worked out. 'Cause I'm so not up for that happening again." She shrugged then, and started playing with the straw dispenser. "But! We won! Woohoo!"

"As far as I can tell, it mostly involved destroying the device that caused the split in the space-time continuum in the first place, thereby allowing the fabric of the universe to reorganize itself back into its proper shape." Vincent shrugged. "But that's not really my field."

Kenzi blinked. "...oh yeah, sure, that makes perfect sense." She tilted her head. "Vincent? Are you secretly a super-genius as well as a major magic chef?"

"Not at all," Vincent said. He was just a plain ordinary genius, like most of the rest of the folks back in Eureka. "You'd just be surprised by how often things like that happen."

"Make that chocolate shake a double, Vincent. I'm going to play in Denial today."

"Coming right up!" He assured her. He could always cut her off if he thought she was having too much.

And he would, too. Wouldn't be the first time he'd stopped a teen from overindulging in milkshakes.
