The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

Despite his less than positive employee review from Eric last week, Derek was once again behind the bar. And looking as petulant as one could while wearing a leather jacket.

All while the DJ played Florence + The Machine like his life depended on it. It was like he was going for a real life fanvid only with less black and white and/or sepia to make it all romantic.

Because giving someone a homicidal look while 'No Light' played in the background was the stuff of Nicholas Sparks.

Clint felt slightly guilty about giving money to Kitty's competition, but it wasn't like he was going to make this a habit. "Can I get a beer?" he asked as he sat down, giving Derek a perfectly friendly look.

Derek's expression stayed pretty much the very same as always as he pulled the beer on tap. Because Barton really needed to learn to be specific here. Then set it down in front of him.

Hey, beer was beer as far as Clint was concerned, so the stuff on tap was fine. At least, he wasn't going to act like it wasn't. "Thanks," he said, watching Derek as he took a sip. "So, how have you been?"

The 'Stalked any teenagers lately?' would be going unsaid.

Derek's response for a moment was just a slow blink. Like he trying to decide if talking would help or staying silent was the better idea. "Fine."

Derek gave her essentially look Barton had received. And the saaaaame response. Which meant he stared at her, waiting for her to ask for a drink.

Then she dropped the sarcasm from her voice and muttered more seriously, "Comp a bottle and I'll hit the DJ over the head with it."
