The Devil's Nest: Saturday, 10/20

Bo, having woken up her usual size, species, and gender (also without a horse in her bed), hadn't realized it was one of those weekends until she walked into the club and found a kid behind the bar. A kid who couldn't quite look her in the eye, but could see over the counter without standing on a crate.

"...Tiny?"

He answered by grabbing a walnut from the bowl on the counter and cracking the shell in the crook of his elbow.

"Right. Go handle the door. Stamp anybody who looks over ten."

Bo, meanwhile, had a year-old specials board to look for.

It was probably comparable to treason for Mike to show up at this bar, especially since all the house drama had made him miss his shift at the other one last night, but it just felt like a day for checking the place out.

Of course, once there, he was left boggling at the specials board. And the music. "What the...?"

"I would like that cherry milkshake with the chocolate and banana," Max declared, taking a seat on a stool. "Whipped cream if you got it."

Oh, he was so taking advantage of the island's sudden child invasion to have aaaaaall the milkshakes. Who wouldn't?

"Really? Are we talking like a carry-it-around-in-your-purse kinda thing? Because that might have to make you my new best friend."

Meet Max's priorities, Bo. They were strange and confusing, but they were his!
newroutines: ([pos] Lol okay.)

Mike chuckled a little, despite himself. "Nah, I think I'm good without piggyback rides right now. Little curious about the rest of the specials, though."

Poor, poor Bo. IT WASN'T YOU, IT WAS THE WHIPPED CREAM. And also the stripper further down the bar.

"Ah, yes, a skill I know well," Max said, nodding sagely. "You have no idea how often it comes up in the Rosalita's Run annual scavenger hunt in Chicago. Lucky for me I can scope out a Reddi-Whip can from a mile away."

That kind of thing belonged on his resume, really.

"Kids weekend?" Mike asked, raising an eyebrow. Was this some kind of a smalltown thing up here in Maryland he'd never heard of? "Wait, is that somehow supposed to explain the random kid that showed up at my house this morning?"

Because whipped cream was awesome. God. And Max had yet to build up the kind of buzz that would lead to hitting on a guy five points above him on the attractiveness scale.

"Booze," he declared. "Definitely booze." Then he paused. "But not enough to overpower the sugariness. Use your judgment."

Yeah, eventually Toby'd worked up the courage to go outside.

And headed for a nightclub. As you do. But he had a pretty good idea of who he'd find here, so.

"Can I get a chocolate peanut butter milkshake, please?" he asked. He didn't have any money on him, but he'd worry about that later.

newroutines: ([pos] Yeah okay I guess.)

"Huh. That's a little weird." He didn't seem like he terribly minded, though, but maybe that was more due to the fact that she was both pretty and the bartender, and therefore he had absolutely no intention of offending her. "But yeah, I'm new. Only been here for less than a week. I'm Mike."

Savannah hadn't found anyone she knew around the island yet -- and she was really stressed about this. She didn't know where her Mommy was and she didn't like that at all.

So, that would be why a very frazzled looking four year old witch made her way into the big building. She managed to climb up on one of the stools -- they were high! -- and looked at Bo.

"Excuse me," she said in a rather polite voice for her age.

Jan could not read the sign.

Which should not be much of a surprise, as Jan couldn't read much of anything. However, he had big blue eyes and all the English a morning playing teacher with Emma could get a 5-year-old, and he knew how to use both.

He smiled at Bo as he raised himself onto a bar stool. "Drink please?"
