"I'm truly sorry, ma'am," Sam said into the phone, and she meant it. Of course, she was also very sorry that this telephone conversation was still ongoing. "Ma'am, it's not my place to question the blood alcohol level of a client who'd like to book a trip. When you called late last night and requested that your morning portal be modified to drop you off at Disneyland instead, that is what we did."
Pause for more complaining.
...Long pause.
"Ma'am. Ma'am. I'm sorry to cut you off, ma'am, but I see here that a discounted return portal can be arranged to return you to New Jersey as early as three this afternoon. Would you like--?" Pause. "I see. In that case, allow me to talk you through some of our partner hotel rates in the Anaheim area. It's October 2016, you said?" She pulled something up on her omni-tool. "Well, to begin..."
Portalocity was open, and the NOW HIRING sign was still up in the window.
Pause for more complaining.
