Fandom Post Office, September 9 (Tuesday)
Éponine had, once again, missed out on the weekend due to being off-island at the time, and she definitely wasn't complaining about that since with her luck she probably would have ended up thinking Cosette was her sister which is (predictably) exactly what would have happened if I'd had the time to write it up or something equally after-the-fact uncomfortable.
No, the most annoying thing she had to deal with today was the customer who was waiting for a package and, apparently not content to repeatedly check the website for the tracking number, kept lurking around the general vicinity of the post office and occasionally popping in to ask if it had arrived yet. Actually, Éponine would not at all be surprised if in between all those inquiries, this person was watching for the post office golf carts.
. . . because it was what she would do herself, in that situation. So yes, maybe it was more than slightly hypocritical for her to be annoyed about this, but she wasn't going to let that stop her from indulging in said annoyance.
At least she was going to refrain from indulging in the temptation to set up some kind of small slingshot to fling things at the pesty customer's head on every subsequent entrance. That was good, right?
