Freedom Arms | Saturday

Last week should have been Bellamy's first week at this job but he'd been indisposed so this week had that distinct honor. He'd hated leaving his stuff behind so he'd made sure everything (including his weapon) was well hidden. He'd gotten himself clean in a shower at a local business and was actually working now.

The last time he'd been employed, he'd been sweeping up other people's trash, getting smug looks from assholes who thought they were better than him. Now, he was surrounded by guns, stranded in an insane place while his sister was in the hands of Grounder forces.

He felt like a failure. It made him want to scream but inside, he went about polishing some of the weaponry before laying them out carefully.

[Open, no OCD]

Washington had come by to 'borrow' a rocket launcher in case of the next bizarre alien invasion. Which would have been fine had York been there. (It would not have been fine.)

Instead of that, he was forced to stand in the doorway before sighing at the new employee.

York, you cockbite.

"Your boss is an asshole," Wash replied. "And you can tell him I said that."

Excuse you, Wash could do so much better than York. Also, York/Carolina was the not so secret Freelancer OTP. He was pretty sure even Delta was also on board with that.

"Yeah, seeing why he hired you," Wash replied.

Wash had to keep from rolling his eyes. "It could have been a compliment."

It wasn't. Not really.

A little bitch, yes.

Wash looked like he was suppressing more and more amusement with each passing minute. "No, of course not. I would never try to tell York how to pick his employees."

"Are you still mad that I hit you with your gun?"

Because that had been fun.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that was just how he was. The stick was a part of him.

Most of the time.

"Actually, I came here for a rocket launcher."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm a teacher. I don't make that kind of money."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That was probably because the only way York would give him a rocket launcher would be if they were blowing something up as a team. Explosive team bonding.

"Yep, definitely seeing why York hired you."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have my own," Wash assured him. "But thanks."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey now, that was mean. No need to use the plight of underpaid teachers against him. "How's life in the past treating you?"

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"A simple 'shitty' would have sufficed."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-08-08 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Did you want to talk about your feelings?" Wash asked, giving him a look. "Because if you seriously wanted to..."

You actually might have picked the most sympathetic of the Freelancers with Washington.
