Mary had been anxiously waiting to hear back from Portalocity after their team of gnomes left. In the meantime, she had kept busy by decorating the lobby with an autumn theme. There were leaf garlands hanging from the ceiling while pumpkins of various sizes were piled up in various spots. There was one large carved jack-o-lantern on the front desk, and someone had helpfully put pumpkin carving kits out on the coffee table if anyone wanted to add to the display.

And if Mary was currently stabbing a pumpkin with a dull knife, it was just so that she didn't take out her frustration on Gunther.
