Hardison was almost glad that today was his radio day. Without a class to teach, he'd felt oddly disconnected all week. The guilt that was still hanging over him only added to that and it was good for a chance to get away for a bit, to do something that wouldn't have his partners tearing the island apart for him.

After reading his one note, he decided to swing over to the diner and see how it was doing. Not that it really ever needed his supervision, but it made for a good enough reason not to go back to Eliot's place for a little while. He ran upstairs to grab a laptop, then headed for a booth in the back where he could continue his thus-far-fruitless quest to try and hack a portal. Seeing the Special's Board, however, he paused.

"Why the sudden candy theme?" he asked the busboy, looking suspicious.

The busboy shrugged. "I'unno," he muttered.

"Y'all didn't go out to the alien planet an' scoop candy an' stuff off the ground in order to make today's special's, did ya?"

"I'unno," the busboy said and fled.

And that was why Hardison was having a damn Hot Pocket for lunch today.
