Turtle & Canary; Tuesday [06/06].

Things felt...very strange at Turtle & Canary this Tuesday. Apu had noticed it. The "unicorns" had noticed it. Even the Squishy machine seemed to have noticed it. The only person who did not was the Merchant of Miracles himself, if that's even who that was. After all, the little stoic man with the turban who came in quietly, fed the unicorns, counted the till, got everything ready for whatever shipments came in, couldn't possibly be the same man who had been terrorizing the store with his loud, obnoxious voice, flailing limbs, and wild ruminations, accusations, and sketchy business deals.

"Hello, Apu," the Merchant had said, sitting on his stool behind the counter. "Do you know if that back order of cereal finally came in? How about the fancy soaps? Kids these days, they do seem to like their fancy soaps."

And then he just started...calmly shifting through the books in between customers, who he didn't even jump at or shout at or anything. It seemed that, without emphasis or theatrics, bold statements and weird little quirks, the Merchant of Miracles was just...some tiny old man in really short shorts.
