The Park, Saturday afternoon into evening

After helping the squirrels to bring the radio's backup generator online, Anakin headed towards the Park, levitating dead sharks with him as he went and occassionally using one to intercept a freshly falling one.

It was a look.

He arrived at the park looking like a drowned rat and glanced around hopefully for other idiots out in the middle of a freaking hurricane who wanted to...freeze...sharks...for some reason.

What were the people in the library smoking?

[OOC: This is open to everyone, even if you didn't sign up for one of the teams! Get as nutty/creative as you want to about this: build some freeze rays, show off your magical freezing abilities, break into giant Luke's freezer, etc. All are welcome!]

Anakin was there with his lightsaber and his increasingly large pile of dead sharks.

You know, a typical Saturday.

Right, so Tali wasn't going to help come up with a plan as harebrained as this one and then not help with . . . the harebrained-ness.

She arrived at the park in a borrowed rickshaw (the driver didn't want to come outside into the rain of sharks, and she couldn't blame her, and she also didn't think the driver would mind under the circumstances) full of parts she'd grabbed from the junkyard, a pistol in one hand and her shotgun magclamped to her back, and set to work.

A couple more trips back to the junkyard later, she had enough scrap metal to cobble together a large flash-freezer of sorts that she rigged up to catch whatever the tractor beam pulled in.

At least she could say it was a new and different test of her engineering abilities? Not to mention a good workout for the mini-fabricator in her omni-tool.

"What are you working on?" Anakin yelled over the wind, diverting a hammerhead shark away from Tali and into the lake.

A giant, armored armadillo looking thing the size of a VW Beetle came trundling into the park, dragging a commandeered rickshaw draped with dead sharks. It looked extremely tired and grumpy.

"This might actually be the dumbest thing I've seen on this island yet," Raven grumbled.

And yet, it was also the only one that had managed to make her homeless.

"And that is a high bar to clear," Anakin said. "We've also had a dinosaur invasion."

"Shark tractor bream beam," Tali shouted back. She was using her omni-tool to weld together a couple of sheets of metal, but paused to fire off a couple of pistol rounds at a thresher shark. "And something to freeze them in."

For some reason, she couldn't bring herself to shoot at the mako sharks.

"Want some help?" he offered. "I'm pretty handy with electronics."

Raven watched a very old looking shark blow by, a much smaller shark wearing a belled cap clinging to its tail.

"If they weren't brought on by a tropical storm, I don't wanna hear about it."

She looked at Anakin suspiciously.

"The wind is hard enough to blow great whites around. How are you standing?"

The Merchant's house might be demolished again, but, miraculously, the very basic nature of it that made it a cart remained in tact...for now. Four wheels and the bottom, and landed perfectly on top of it, the homewrecker shark herself. After hearing the radio announcement, he bribed the unicorns with a promise of cupcakes, hooked thrm up, and thry rolled on over to the park.

"One shark, coming right up!" he announced from behind the reins. "How much are we gettin' for these babies? Cause I got about three more of 'em at the store."

"I'm never going to say no to that, especially under --" Tali ducked out of the way of a falling sand tiger shark. "The circumstances."

WHAT EVEN WERE THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

"The circumstances are ridiculous," Anakin said, frowning hard.

He smiled a little ruefully. "Jedi trick," he admitted. "I'm concentrating on staying on the ground."

"I'm not sure," Anakin said, frowning thoughtfully. "Or who would be the one providing money."

Peter had been all around the island killing sharks today. He kind of wished someone had mentioned needing them first, but whatever. He came back to the park with a pile of sharks in tow via a bubble of purple magic, and another eight-footer draped over his shoulders.

"Where are we putting these, and what are we doing with them?"

"Even for this place," agreed Tali, who was probably frowning just as hard. "I should have all the components we need for a cooling unit -- you could start on that while I finish putting together a case for the shark freezer?"

She had to pause and shake her head, because she really just said that.

"That sounds like an excellent--shark!" Anakin shouted, swinging his lightsaber at the ten foot long shark heading much too close to their equipment.

"We're putting them here, and so far I have no idea why," Anakin said. "There's some kind of plan."

Peter sighed and dropped the sharks where he'd indicated.

"Do we know when we find out the plan?"

"So....." the Merchant said slowly. "....no money? We're just bringin' in our well-earned sharks for free?"

"Cheater," Raven said. "I haven't had to be this heavy this long in ages."

When the sharks had started... raining... Jason had figured that, well. Maybe it wasn't evil aliens this time, but fighting off sharks that were falling from the sky thanks to evil (okay, maybe evil was a strong word, but morally dubious, for sure) talking loan sharks surely counted as a responsible use of Ranger powers, right?

So he'd called up his armor and spent a good portion of the day punching sharks in the face. And now apparently they needed some of them in the park for some reason? So he found a tarp and bundled as many sharks as he could in to it before flinging it over his shoulder and hauling it to the park. Kind of like Santa with a sack of toys except instead of Santa it was a Red Power Ranger and instead of toys it was various dead or unconscious sharks.

"So... what are we doing with these, exactly?" he asked. The person who he'd got the message from hadn't exactly been too clear on details. Which... was probably because they'd heard it from someone who'd heard it from someone who'd heard the radio broadcast that had cut off before that detail could be shared.

Khadgar was more of an arcane mage than a frost mage, but he knew enough spells to freeze any sharks people had lying around.

He'd zapped a few himself, but he was saving most of his energy for freezing, if anyone needed it.

You know, Tali couldn't help but stare at the lightsaber for a moment, because every time she saw one around here she was impressed by the design.

But just a moment, and she was punching in the commands to deploy her personal drone at the same time.

"Chatika, draw them off a little bit," she ordered. Time to find out how well the taser upgrade she'd installed would work!

"It's a good thing I know by now never to expect optimal conditions when I'm working," she added dryly, and fired a couple of shots at the shark.

The good news was, Merrill made it out of the preserve eventually!

The bad news was, she ended up in town instead of at the dorms.

But that was all right; she knew enough elemental magic to freeze sharks, and would be more than happy to assist in that regard.
