Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday
Huh. Zack blinked as he looked around the shop today.
The cow was gone, to his eternal relief. Which mostly just begged the question, had somebody adopted her? Did somebody on the island somewhere actually have a pet cow, now? Or had one of the vet staff arranged for her to to live out her life happily in a pasture on the mainland? She had been fairly well-behaved, so far as cows went. That was good, right?
He was going to scratch his head over that mystery for the rest of the day, occasionally stopping to eat a chocolate coin here and there, because... hey, the drawers were full of them, and they were bad for the dogs and cats. He was doing them a great service. Taking one for the team.
Of course, Girl was begging for whatever it was he kept trying to eat while she wasn't looking, so he wound up pulling down the dog treats and handing out a round of those to her and all the puppies in the lobby playpen today, too.
