Working Memorial Day in the Nine-Nine usually meant fielding a lot of calls to the fire department, overtime for the traffic cops racking up their DUIs, and a day-long game of Fireworks or Gunshots?. Working Memorial Day here on Fandom Island, it seemed, was just dealing with a lot of noise complaints from the villagers who seemed to exist purely for narrative purposes about the squirrel barbecue.
"They're squirrels, how loud could they even be?"
"What do you mean, giving them rum made it worse? What did you expect it to do?"
"I don't know, try shooting BBs at them. Don't you have a precocious five year with a slingshot somewhere?"
At this point, she was starting to get worried. She was quickly running out of troopers to send out on these complaints, meaning if they didn't come back soon, she'd have to go herself. And she had a sneaking suspicion they weren't coming back any time soon, probably due to burger-related distractions.
