Mitsutada was quite happy with how his first class had went. Sayo was a bit... intense, at times, but Sayo was also still a good and warm person (even with his insatiable desire for revenge). This week would prove its own hurdle, as the wakizashi that was coming was... particular.

Hopefully none of his students had problems with ghost stories.

So, with only a minimum level of distraction, Mitsutada put together a rather simple specials board:

Hamburger with Fries
Fry Bits
Onigiri

Luke's was open! and OCD-free

When he felt he'd done enough studying and needed actual food instead of the Perk's baked goods, Kaidan headed to Luke's. The menu board made his face light up, because all of that sounded fantastic.

"Heya, Mitsutada. What are fry bits? Like french fries, or fried something else?"

"They're the little bits that end up breaking up from the fries," Mitsutada said. "I was told there used to be a kid at the school who would demand them. So they end up on the menu every so often. Crispy over-fried fry bits."

Kaidan thought about that and then shook his head, "That's not my style. The regular fries with the burger, and onigiri, should suit, please. How's your day going?"

Mitsutada sent Kaidan's order to the kitchen staff, and turned back with a smile on his face. "Oh, today is going well, over all. Spending my time figuring out how I can steer my fellow soldier on Friday in case he decides to get... weird."

"Another sword?" Kaidan asked, hazarding a guess, since Mitsutada hadn't mentioned non-sword soldiers to him yet.

"Yes, they are visiting to help me teach a class at the school," Mitsutada explained. "We are teaching the students about different types of weapons from Japan. We started this past week with Tantou. This week, we move on to Wakizashi."

"That's nice of them," Kaidan said warmly, "How are the students absorbing the knowledge?"

"That is a very good question," Mitsutada said. "Some seemed hesitant, others almost overwhelmingly excited. Hopefully everyone gets something out of the class. I don't expect any to become master duelists, but they'll learn a little history at least."

"History's good," Kaidan said, adding dryly, "Hormonal angsty teenagers not becoming expert duelists is even better. I'm not sure I'd trust many of them with a foam sword."

"I trust them with wood ones," Mitsutada said. "And luckily between myself and whatever guest I have each week, we should be able to stop any serious injuries."

At least, he hoped so.

Kaidan's order arrived from the kitchen, which Mitsutada served to him. "I hope it is to your liking."

"Wood's good, too. Bruises are good teaching aids," Kaidan noted, "Kanan uses bamboo practice swords in his class."

The food arrived and Kaidan beamed. Scooping up his onigiri, he intoned, "Itadakimasu!" and bit into it with a mighty, nay, manly noise. That might have sounded exactly like a squeaky little 'chomp' noise. After the first bite, he peered in to see what the filling was, and made another manly noise of pleasure when he saw it was umeboshi.

"It's harder to find shinai in the sizes I need," Mitsutada said, as if he wasn't computer-generating them into existence and having to buy them.

He grinned wide at Kaidan's 'cheers' to the food. "Now there's something that makes it feel a little like home, here."

"Shinai?" Kaidan asked, "That's the word for the bamboo swords?"

He grinned back at Mitsutada, "Glad I could be of assistance. I know like, ten words, and that's one. Can't even claim to have learned it from Mum, it's one I heard in a movie."

Mitsutada nodded and made a sound of confirmation-slash-approval.

"Well, all the same, it is very welcoming," he said. "Thank you."
