Norman walked in to see a bunch of books scattered across the floor, splayed, some sitting on bent pages, as if they'd been hurled around with no regard to where they landed.

The jelly demon was nowhere to be seen.

"I don't want to know," Norman announced as he started picking the books up. "I'm sure there's an explanation for this, and I really just don't want it."

That'd be because Nina had the jelly demon. It was a good, good jelly demon and no one was going to murder it on her watch.

Stupid creeper ghost.

"Small geeky boy!!!!!!!!!"

Sure, Norman had hired her, but what part of her statement was wrong?

"Um?"

Norman paused mid-tidy, blinking up at Nina, looking just slightly out of his depth.

She wasn't wrong, no, but most people weren't so straightforward about it these days.

"Yeaah?"

"You," she announced, "have a murderous creeper ghost in this store!!!!!!!! I won't have it!!!!!!!!! It cannot be allowed to murder Foomy!!!!!!!!!"

She'd named the jelly demon. If only because having it over the weekend had meant it wasn't getting away without a name.

Whether or not it stayed Foomy... well, that was a different story.

"Murder... Foomy," Norman echoed, blinking up at her as he stood, arms full of damaged books. "Murderous creeper ghost?"

A long pause.

"Oh. Crap. I didn't tell you about Bob."

"There I was, trying to fix poor Foomy," Nina said dramatically, "when this creeper comes from the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly he was up to no good, and I said as much, and he wanted to murder poor Foomy!!!!!!!! I had to take action!!!!!!"

She was not confessing to throwing the books he was holding, though.

"I took Foomy and ran," she announced defiantly. "And I will protect this darling with my life!!!!!!!!!!!"

Also please get rid of the murderous creeper ghost, thanks.

"He, um, he works here," Norman said, blinking. "He's our Sunday guy. His name is Bob."

Nina blinked back at him.

Appalled.

"You hired a murderous creeper ghost???????????????"

"I hired my teacher," Norman said, sighing a little. "Who happens to also be a ghost. He can't actually hurt anything, even if he wanted to. He doesn't really trust... Foomy? But he's got a lot of history with unpredictable summonings, I think, maybe."

Nina squinted at him.

He seemed to be telling the truth.

"If you turn out to be like him," Nina said, "I will be forced to take drastic action!!!!!!!!"

Norman had to stop himself from holding up his hands in surrender, what with his arms being full of books and all.

"What? No! For a start, I'm not a ghost," he pointed out. "And for another, I don't want Foomy dead. I fed him a sandwich last week."

A pause.

"That's why he's got a peanut butter stripe now."
