Atlas Gym: Saturday evening
Kaidan had agreed to start self-defense lessons for two of his friends. They'd talked about it for months but recent events had galvanized it so here he was at the gym, setting up one of the side rooms with a double layer of floor mats and some padded gloves and other assorted things.
He'dhandwaved told both men to wear cups or other groin protection. He didn't think they'd need it tonight but they should get used to moving in it at the very least. Eventually they'd be pairing off against one another and they'd need it.
For now, what he needed was padding. Not for taking falls - they wouldn't be doing any of that for awhile due to Hernando's head injury - but as a safe but unstable footing for them to learn spacial relations on.
