Furnado Animal Shelter; Sunday [03/10].
When Summer came into the shelter that morning, the last thing she'd expected to see was the place all decked out with streamers and balloons. That alone might not be too confusing...if you just ignored the fact that the vet was as clueless about it as Summer was, and it appeared that maybe the animals had actually gone and set it up all on their own, which just left her to wonder exactly how.
Like, this sort of thing had the boys written all over it. Hell, it sort of had Summer written all over it, too, but Prompto and Sidon hadn't been in since their respective shifts. She supposed, around here, it could have just been the island, but the animals all seemed to be in a celebratory mood, so she had a feeling it was more them (somehow) than anything else.
At least there was a little answer, as one of the puppies came over and gave her a little card with some scribbles on it, scribbles that took her a moment to decipher: "This is Carl. He is leaving us now and will be gone forever. This is your last chance to say good-bye to Carl."
"Who even wrote this?"
But, looking up, blinking at the hedgehog at the center of all of this, who she could only assume was Carl, she had to admit: a hedgehog having a party with a tiny little suitcase and a small hat on his head was one of the cutest goddamn things she'd ever seen.
She'd only just met you, Carl, apparently, but she was going to miss you.
Little did she know...
