T42 - Thursday
The store was in a mood. Hernando wasn't sure what kind of mood, but the pastry display had four different kinds of zucchini-based treats. A sweetbread, a chocolate brownie, a carrot-and-zucchini muffin, and a crumble bar. Among other treats like pavlova and cupcakes.
He eyed the display, amused. "Is this supposed to be a suggestion that we plant zucchini or a warning not to?" he asked. The store didn't answer. "I am fairly certain Sparkle is going to want to plant at least one zucchini. If only to use the blossoms in cooking." The store still said nothing. Which wasn't unusual, the store wasn't verbal as such.
"I don't suppose the 'specials' board has returned?" he asked hopefully. No answering rattle. Hernando gave a small sigh and went to make himself a cup of tea, carefully stepping over the quokka who were lounging sunbeams on the floor.
