There was a chair in the middle of the gym today.
Just . . . right there, positioned dead center on the sparring mats, for no apparent reason whatsoever because it didn't even make any sense for it to be there. It wasn't even an unusual chair, just a run-of-the-mill, straight-backed kitchen type chair with a cushion upholstered in deep green fabric, but one that hadn't existed in the gym before today.
Beau found this deeply suspicious, and even after she moved the chair over to one side so people could use the sparring mats without any safety hazards she kept a wary eye on it.
It was probably nothing. Just a random chair, courtesy of one of the island's more flippant whims.
Or . . . was it? Man, this was going to bother her all day. Because sure, everything had gone weird and primordial outside, but this? This was the thing that concerned her more.
