Honestly, the fact that her lab was pristine and hi-tech while her shop was absolute trash—Iris was not selling anything to anyone who wanted bathing supplies this week; everything was poisonous, which didn't bother her—and then looking outside…
At that green sky…
It just left her feeling a bit homesick.
Iris, dressed in her uniform, clambered outside to sit on her rusty, unsafe roof to look at the sky and kill any monster that came near her.
It was like Midgar's slums, just without the plate in the way. Maybe it shouldn't, but it felt like home.
