Trooper Station, Friday
Liam still wasn't really feeling himself today, but he did have a job to do. The Trooper Station paperwork was never-ending, after all. The Troopers themselves had taken one look at him and immediately started walking on figurative eggshells, and literal tiptoe. As if that would somehow help.
(Liam had to admit, managing to walk on tiptoe in those boots was impressive, but he would've preferred if they'd just acted like their normal goddamn selves).
He sang quietly to himself as he started to sign off on the forms, mind drifting.

Something warm and soft pressed against his leg, startling him out of the fugue he'd nearly drifted in to, and he stared down first at the station cat, and then at the Incident Report he'd been filling in detailing James the raccoon's latest exploits. Perfectly legible and understandable...
If you read Eunoia.
Which no one on this island did.
"Damn it," he sighed, scrapping the whole thing and starting again.

That made being quiet so much more unexpected. Not that, like, it was really hard to sneak in today when Liam was so incredibly out of it.
But that just made it even easier to leave a hot chocolate from the Perk (made just how he liked it; they'd told her he didn't like coffee) on his desk and sneak out, all unnoticed, before she went to go and learn how to drive.
She knew, really, that a drink wasn't going to fix whatever was the matter with him but, like, at least it was something she could do.

He picked up the cup and took a small, tentative sip, smiling a bit as the mix of whipped cream and hot chocolate hit his tongue.
Yes, the fact that it was very possible someone had made it into his office to drop this off was definitely more than a little concerning, but it could also have just been Fandom being Fandom. There were surveillance tapes he could check later, at least. For the moment... he was just going to appreciate the gesture, whether it was the island who thought he needed the pick-me-up or an actual person.
