Rey's focus had been a lot better. Which was good, since after she started running the obstacle course today, some woodchucks decided to chuck wood at her just to amp up the difficulty.

Okay realistically they weren't trying to help as much as they were being assholes, but still, it helped a little. And Rey was going to keep telling herself that to keep from getting too annoyed.

"You're lucky I'm not the type to hurl these back at you," she told them.

"I am," Anakin added, coming in on the tail end of her conversation.

"Not you," she called back, as a piece of wood whizzed past her before she was supposed to get on the tightrope section. "Them."

"I can throw things at them, too," Anakin offered, grinning.

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't want to hurt them," she said, though she wasn't opposed to making them stop.

At any rate she made it across the rope really fast.

Anakin pursed his lips. "But experiencing consequences won't kill them."

[thatwaslucky]

"As long as it doesn't hurt them," she said, trying to rush through the next part.

Because woodchucks.

"It won't leave lasting marks?" Anakin tried.

[thatwaslucky]

"No marks!"

This is what you get for training a bleeding heart.

Anakin "Totally Skewered That Guy From Behind Just in Case" Skywalker sighed heavily. "Very well." He glowered at the woodchucks. "Next piece you chuck gets chucked right back at you. Got it?"

"Better," she called, disappearing for a moment behind the swinging things and then knocking them apart with the Force because she hated those things.

"You're getting better at those," Anakin called up to her.

[thatwaslucky]

"Thanks, they're annoying," she called, detouring to a spot where she could safely jump down without breaking her ankles.

She didn't tend to think about that anymore, she just knew when it was okay.

"You'll thank me later when they're in the real world and they're tentacles!"

That wasn't going to help anything, Anakin.

"I've done tentacles already," she said, standing on the ground and brushing herself off out of habit. "They didn't behave like that."

[sith_happened]

"Would you like these to be more like tentacles?"

Because he could totally do that.

[thatwaslucky]

"No, I'd really rather avoid tentacles ever again," she told him.

[sith_happened]

"I can tell from ugly experience that's probably not possible," Anakin said. "Sorry."

"...How many times have you had to deal with tentacles?" Rey asked, frowning so hard.

[sith_happened]

"It's not zero times," Anakin hedged.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm done with tentacles," Rey decided firmly. "I'm putting my foot down."

[sith_happened]

"I'll pass along your preferences to the correct channels," Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"Thank you." She knew better. "How are you this week?"

[sith_happened]

"Good," he said, "but the cooking class is extremely confusing."

[thatwaslucky]

"More than last week?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"One egg makes ice cream, two eggs make cake," Anakin recited, "unless you are thinking about lasagna, and in that case, two eggs makes lasagna."
