Chilly Boulder; Saturday Afternoon [05/23].

Summer Smith was in mourning. It was truly tragic, the sort of awful, unjustified misfortune that could seriously ruin your whole week, the sort of gut-wrenching catastrophe that only a giant mountain of ice cream could even begin to soothe, and so, with tears gathered her in her eyes, on the brink of spilling over and ruining her oh-so-perfect so-natural-you-can't-even-notice-it makeup, Summer went to Chilly Boulder and witheringly ordered herself the Ben Skywalker, with the full intention of weepingly consuming every single bite.

And curiousity got the best of the poor sop who had to serve that to Summer, who then asked what was wrong.

"They canceled my favorite show!" Summer explained, breath shaking, hand to her broken heart. "It was inclusive, it was funny. All the characters were, like, six seconds from kissing each other at any time. It was the best, and now it's gone, and there is no justice in the world, and I just want to die!"

Yes, she knew she was being overdramatic. Yes, she knew that she had interdimensional cable, which meant there were plenty of other dimensions where the show wasn't canceled and she could access it easily at any point in time, but that wasn't the point! It was so good! It should last forever in all dimensions! And when one suffered a great and grievious loss, it was important to properly mourn it, even if didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

So just give her her mountain of ice cream and let her mourn in peace, Mr. Judgey Ice Cream Man! Everyone knew ice cream just tasted better, anyway, when seasoned with the salty tears of your own terrible grief!

[[ totes open for all your ice cream related needs! even though i'm on a bit of sp until later due to work, but I'm catching up on my R&M comics and this line from #47 just resonated and I had to use it before my brain brushed it under the rug of my own forgetfulness! ]]
