Keeping the pigeon at the Station had undoubtedly been the right choice. Not only was it safe from the mice this way, but for all their flaws, the Troopers were absolutely animal lovers who'd spoiled the bird over the past two days.

Liam, of course, had done his part too; in fact, the pigeon was currently nibbling away at a bowl of shredded carrot. It was recovered enough from its flight to find Nina that Liam figured he could release it to find its way back before he headed out for Arts and Crafts, but for now? He had company while doing some of the never-ending stream of paperwork that the Trooper Station somehow generated.
