Atlas Gym, Monday (7/20)
Beau wasn't going to lie, she was kind of going to miss having pockets of holding (she could've fit so much bacon in there) and all the weird shit like getting furniture out of trees, and the cool pair of blue sneakers she'd found in a present attached to a balloon. She was, however, totally fine not having to deal with overly friendly penguins who claimed to be obsessed with working out, or disturbingly adorable deer who shared her name, or anything like that.
But the regular music at the gym was back, and she'd gladly take the same fifteen damn songs over and over all day in place of the constant bright, soothing background instrumentals that had not gone away for a week.
Today's issue: some skeevy guy she'd never seen before, who came in from the mainland purportedly in search of a new gym. It was quickly apparent that he actually didn't have the slightest bit of interest in actually working out, but that he was taking an interest in several of the regulars and making them uncomfortable. And you know what, she was going to have to take her own initiativelol meta D&D joke and just handle this right now. Not because it'd be so personally satisfying. Not just because of that. Making places better than how she found them was a good thing to do, just like Molly used to say, right?
Which was how she ended up goading Skeevy Guy into a sparring match (hey, look, her talent for irritating people legitimately came in handy for once) and, as soon as she'd hit him enough times to get a read on the flow of his spiritual energy, tapped into some of her own to disrupt his, and stun him for a few seconds.
"I'm preemptively revoking the membership you never got around to signing up for, man, and kicking you out," Beau announced, cracking her knuckles. "I can literally fucking punch the truth out of you, just saying, so unless you want me to grill you on why you really want to sign up --"
That was right about when her stunning strike wore off, and he took off for the front door like his ass was on fire.
"Dammit," Beau grumbled. "I really wanted a chance to try the truth-punching thing out."
Oh well. At least she felt pretty confident about that asshole not coming back.
[OOC: *attempts to get back into the regular swing of this* Extort Truth really is an ability for Beau's particular monastic tradition: for one minute you literally cannot lie. NGL I really do want a chance to try it out in game someday. Anyway. Open, with likely daytime SP!]
