Silver had an ugly sweater to buy. He didn't really understand the point of such things but he said he'd do it, so. It would probably be useful to have something warm to wear no matter how ugly it was.

He was there, messing around on his phone.

Summer had been meaning to do this for weeks now, but, apparently, the island kept having different ideas, first turning her into a pony one weekend and then making her fourteen the next, but, this week, the island decided to freakin' finally chill out, so that Summer was completely herself as she should be so that she could go to a bar where she couldn't drink to see a man about a pirate.

Well, to see a pirate about himself, but whatev.

"Looking up anything good?" she asked, by way of introduction, craning her neck when she reached the bar as if to see what had him do glued to her phone, but, totally just for show, really!

Also, just ignore the irritated glare probably coming from Tiny at her arrival. Summer certainly was!

"Ugly sweaters actually," Silver said. "So if you're into that then I guess it's good."

Ohmygod. Now what in the world would he be wanting an ugly sweater for, hmmmm?

"Only for very special occassions."

Like totally reasonable and not at all snowballing out of control early Christmas parties!

"I'm Summer, by the way," she then offered with a smile. "I don't think we've met."

At some point Rey figured Silver would get tired of her coming in, but until then...

"I can't look at my apartment anymore today," she greeted him.

"John," he said with a small smile back. "Rey's mentioned you."

"More packages?" He knew her apartment was big but even he was doubting it could hold all this stuff.

"And I've been told there's more coming," Rey nodded.

"This party is only the one night, right?" Because that was a lot for one night.

"It had better be," she said. "And there's a lot of things I have no desire to keep."

Someone had better walk out with at least one inflatable reindeer.

"Just for the record I am not taking anything." The mermaid furniture was bad enough.

Summer's grin brightened. It kind of had to.

"Oh, has she?" What a complete and utter surprise! "What a coincidence! I'm pretty sure she's mentioned you, too."

Usually at Summer's insistent prodding, with the knowledge that there was no way to get her to stop prodding until she did, but stiiiill!

"I know she has," Silver said with a grin. "Unless she was talking about some other boy when you had a girls night."

Radio was so useful.

The mermaid furniture was fantastic.

"I'm fine with that. In fact, I thank you. I would still have to look at it at your place," she reasoned.

"If she was," Summer loftily lifted her chin, "I couldn't tell you. That'd be a dereliction of girls night code."

But the loftiness couldn't fend off her smirk for too long.

"It is nice to finally get the chance to meet you, though, John."

She was very proud of herself for actually saying his name without elongating it, too!

"This is true," he said with a nod. "Well maybe you'll get people so drunk they'll want to take some of that stuff home."

"It's alright, she told me she only said nice things about me," he said, chuckling. "It is nice to meet you too. I figured if I didn't happen today it would happen at this Christmas party Rey got talked into."

"I'm not trying to get anyone drunk," Rey pointed out. "Though I am hoping someone maybe takes a keg home. I could not drink all that in my entire life."

Which was why Saturday was going to suck for her.

Got talked into sounded just a biiiit different than the letting Annie use her apartment side of things that Summer got, but, then again, she'd gotten that from Annie, soooo...

With a little consideration, she felt that both could be equally true, really.

"Yeah," she agreed. "That felt like a good fall-back, but I've been meaning to stop by since that girls night, but the island has had different plans these last few weeks, apparently. Thank god nothing happened to me while I was in Utah."

She was honestly still a little shocked that nothing had happened to her while she was in Utah.

"Well it's a party there will be drunk people." He'd probably be one of them but he had least had that pirate tolerance going for him that would prevent him from being sloppy. "You could always donate any leftover alcohol to the bars."

"I'm not sure what Utah is," he admitted. "But it's a good thing nothing happened. These past few weeks have been odd for most people."

Not him. But he was adjacent to the weirdness which was bad enough.
