Fandom Fire Station, Friday
Travis hadn't actually thought Fandom could get any quieter than it already was, but then this week had happened. He'd had no idea what was going on until he'd handwavily stopped in at the Perk for coffee one morning and been told that it was spring break.
In late February.
That seemed optimistic, but okay.
So he'd been all set for yet another dead shift today, sprawling on his chair at the reception desk with his feet up, messing around with a fashion game on his phone, when the calls started coming in.
"Ma'am, I promise you, the chipmunks can get down out of the tree on their own. Yes, even if they're wearing Hawaiian shirts."
"No, your smoke alarm isn't possessed. If it's letting out a chirping sound, it probably needs new batteries. Well--okay, yes, chanting in ancient Sumerian is a different story. Maybe try the local church?"
"...There's a what? Where? I don't know, a plumber, maybe? Good god, it better not be sentient!"
"Oh, ha ha, yes, kid, my refrigerator is running. Yes, I'll go catch--wait, they don't actually do that around here, do they?"
Well. At least he wasn't bored?
