The special's board tonight was a co-production born of much bickering back and forth between Tiny and Lucifer. Not that Lucifer would admit it, of course.

Satisfied with the selection, Lucifer settled behind the piano to idly play his way through a number of 60s and 70s classics he'd determined to be 'beachy'. No reason, really.

Lucille arrived while Lucifer was playing, and she ordered a glass of wine and waited until he had finished the song until she approached the piano.

"That was quite a happy song," she said, smiling.

Of course, Lucille's definition of happy might not be shared with everyone.

"Well, my mood tonight is not entirely terrible," Lucifer said merrily, looking up at her. "Miss Sharpe."

Lucille was in quite a good mood herself.

"I do tend to prefer things that way," Lucifer said, grinning. "Were you hoping to have some time on the piano tonight?"

"Unless you object," Lucille said. "I did mention I had some new pieces in mind, didn't I?"

Almost cheerful ones, too, she felt.

He rose from the bench, straightened his suit, and took a step aside.

"It's all yours," he said, with a grand gesture.

She smiled, took a seat, arranged her skirts and began to play. After she had finished the first song, a rather romantic one, she felt, one that she had played for Tisarwat, she continued with a more upbeat one. By her own standards, of course.

"Oooh," Lucifer said, leaning against the piano. "Dramatic."

"Thank you," Lucille said, choosing to interpret that as approval and a compliment. "I do sometimes find new things in the music shop."

She reached for her wine glass.

"I would find the limited selection at home quite frustrating nowadays."

"Mm, I can imagine," Lucifer said, amused. "One of the advantages of this age: everyone knows how to remix what came before."

"I have seen clothes inspired by the fashion of my time too," Lucille said. "Is there something you wish would come back in fashion?"

"I feel like most ages have something in their favor," Lucifer said, smirking. "I do miss the easy access of togas. And men in heels outside of drag shows."

She didn't always keep up to date with contemporary things.

"They're terrible plastic shoes with holes in them and I live in constant terror that Duke will wake up one day and decide they'd be perfect for on the boat."

"Crocs. Crocker," Lucille said. "Almost a nickname."

Nicknames were not something she was good at, which might explain it.

"Isn't that his name? I have only met him when buying food at the diner."

"Oh, right, I suppose," Lucifer said, "But now I'm picturing Duke as some kind of Australian crocodile wrangler and that's an image I desperately didn't need."

"I have to confess I have never met one," Lucille said. "But I imagine we wouldn't share many interests."

"I promise I will never use that nickname. I am not in the habit of using them anyway."
