When Irene strode into the shop this morning, she was wearing a truly lovely, warm Burberry coat and a similarly-cozy scarf. Because it was freezing, of course, both in her apartment and the shop (and, once she ventured outside, it would also be too cold there.) She'd ask Phoebe when she saw her whether she found it cold as well -- you know, Phoebe, her wife who definitely lived here, but was always just...somewhere else -- but for the meantime, a fall-weight coat would have to do.

As Irene set to work unpacking a new shipment, mindful as always of her precious fingernails, she paused to tilt her head up at the ceiling and let out a noise like an elephant, complete with an accompanying wave of her arm as though it was a trunk.

And then back to unpacking the box. What?
