Eric had managed to shove Lucifer's giant, ugly piano outside (which was surely good for it) and replaced the empty space with a disco ball and a giant (tasteful! truly!) fluorescent wall light that blinked "AXES" and then "ERIC" at different, non-seizure-inducing intervals.

It was...a thing that was happening, that was for sure.

The music was Europop, the drinks were strong and the sign on the bar reminded you that there was only one drinking day until your relatives-and/or-friends showed up tomorrow.

When there would ALSO be drinking, but you'd probably have to invite them.

The Devil's Nest was open! And piano free, at least for the moment.

The true draw, right? RIGHT?!

Gladio was told to see how things went, and so, a week later, there was absolutely a shirtless behemoth in leather inquiring at the bar about the status of a certain stock of Cup Noodle^TM sodas with the eagerness of a much smaller puppy.

Not gonna lie, he was going to be pretty bummed if they'd actually burned through them all, especially with Noct coming this weekend!

Eric sauntered up behind him and winked. "We still have some of the sodas left."

"And that," said Gladio, turning toward Eric with a grin that might make a kid at Christmas look unenthusiastic, "is some of the best news I've heard all day! So what'dya say? What'll it take to let me take those bad boys off your hands?"

"Happily," Eric said, laughing. "It might surprise you, but you and your friend were the only ones really excited about them."

Dispite the disappointed shake of his head, the grin on his face made it pretty clear that Gladio was not actually surprised at all. "There's just no accounting for taste." He threw in a heavy sigh for good measure. "But more for us, I guess, and I'm going to be honest, this is sort of giving me an idea for my class tomorrow if I can get the other two on board."

Ignis. If he could get Ignis on board. Prompto was kind of a given.

Eric laughed again. "I'm sorry I won't see how it goes," he admitted.

"There's a fifty/fifty chance Nina'll record it and slather it all over her social media," Gladio noted, "but in the absence of video evidence, I'll be sure to tell you how it goes."

With that, and finally getting that Cup Noodle^TM cocktail that he'd totally ordered from Tiny a little bit earlier, Gladio leaned comfortably against the bar and quirked his chin up a the disco ball and the lights.

"So," he ventured, "what's up with this place, anyway? I swear, it's different in here each time I come in."

And he was pretty sure the new piano was outside now?

"We're renovating," Eric said with a little smirk. "Lucifer and I have different visions."
