Magpie Emporium, Thursday (11/4)
The first floor of the store was now set up to Steph's satisfaction -- for now, anyway, since she'd inevitably come up with some other good idea and just have to incorporate it somehow -- with the exception of a few key bits of blank surface that were just waiting for an order of stickers to arrive, and maybe ordering a new desk chair for the office.
Which meant that the second floor got the full brunt of her attention now, and the project of redesigning the gaming area for both function and totally badass atmosphere could get started for real. Steph had pushed all the tables away from one wall and covered it with kraft paper, on which she was now sketching out a fantasy-style tavern wall from the reference drawings in her notebook (and standing on one of the chairs when she needed to).
A sign by the register downstairs read UPSTAIRS - YELL IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, and another sign in the window read LOOKING FOR PAINTERS TO HELP WITH MURAL. INQUIRE WITHIN!
Steph was a pretty good artist on a small scale, but if she wanted this whole remodel done as soon as possible so this gaming area could look totally fucking awesome, then more hands on deck would be better.
[OOC: Shop open! SP is, you guessed it, going to be a thing. Handwavey painting recruiting can also be a thing; just let me know.]

Or maybe it had just been a siren's call of sorts, because a certain word jumped out at her from a sign in a window, and she stopped for a moment to blink at it, then looked up at the shop that she'd never paid much attention to before but recognized now from her radio broadcasts, and considered.
Pushed open the door to step inside, to only find another sign, feeling almost like following breadcrumbs, and her eyes went up again to the ceiling before looking around to see that at least no one was around at the moment to be bothered by her yelling, good and loud, especially for her, "HELLO?"

The place was getting colder, so the walks with the kid were becoming more wandering into storefronts to warm back up periodically. And this was a relatively new one, so...
"Hello?"

That's what you put on the sign, Gingrich, come on.

"The sign said you were looking for painters?" she said, then looked back. "I'm here to inquire within."

"Welcome to the shop," she said, spreading her hands wide in a showy gesture.

"Okay, whoa," she blurted out, because she wasn't exactly used to seeing people in full armor outside of a LARP setting. Yet.

"Hi," Din said as the kid began his usual wander to investigate the place. "This place is new."
