The Photo Hut - Thursday
Liz noticed that there were quite a few boxes that had arrived when she came downstairs to open up the store for her shift that day so most of her morning was being spent putting away the new stock that had arrived.
Once she had finished that and some general tidying up as well, she returned to her computer so that she could finish completing some general admin tasks that she had to work on.

Surprising, at this point, no one, as he held up a bag of take-away from Sushi Station, which he set on the counter as he made his way over toward where Liz was working. "And," he added, pushing up on the counter a little so he could lean over it enough to add a kiss to his greeting, and a big, dumb smile, "a very important request."

“Oh?” Liz smiled moving closer when Prompto leaned in to kiss her, “and what might that request be?”

Which wasn't that big of a deal, right? They were dating, they were living together, it was Valentine's Day, totally expected, right? But this was the nerve-wracking part, this was the part where his grin widened to help give him the confidence to not just back out into a safer option like somewhere here on the island or on the mainland, because there was a good chance she'd hate the idea, that it was just a really bad move on his part, or just kind of stupid...
"In Insomnia."

Yes she knew Monday was Valentine’s Day and didn’t actually have any plans because well she figured they would be doing something but she hadn’t factored in a trip to Prompto’s world …even though he had talked about it the other week.
Then she realised she hadn’t said anything and she smiled warmly, “I would love that,” she told him, “that sounds perfect,” hopefully she didn’t sound too nervous.

So the relief, and then the grin, which turned into a nervous kind of sheepish laugh before he added, "And that's not even the good part! I got us reservations at the Caelum Via, which is one of the most premium venues in the whole city."
Honestly, he still couldn't believe he managed to land that, and it was going to do some major damage to his bank account, but being Crownsguard to the future king certainly had its benefits!
(It also helped that no one in Insomnia had ever even heard of Valentine's Day and it was literally just a random Monday there like any other, but still!)

“That sounds amazing, thank you,” she smiled, leaning over to give Prompto a kiss, “I’m looking forward to it,”

He felt the red splash across his face when she smiled at him, burning even brighter when she leaned in to kiss him, and that was when he discovered that it was a really interesting experience, trying to kiss someone back when you honestly felt like you just couldn't stop smiling.
Especially when he remembered that there was a little bit more, too, and, well, dinner for Valentine's Day, that wasn't anything that big, that was kind of expected, right? But this next part...
He was just going to take advantage of a little more kissing to work up the courage to say it...at least, it started that way, but then he just kind of stuck with the kissing, because, well...kissing was nice, but, eventually, he drew away, remembered how to breathe again and ventured, "And, um, I thought...maybe...since we were, you know...already there, you could, um...come...stay at...my place after."
Which seemed weird, that he'd be nervous about that, since they lived together when he was on the island, but...well...still, it was....different. To spend a night there and not be alone...

She didn’t know why she was suddenly blushing so much at that offer, since well they lived together and all, unaware that she was completely agreeing with the narrative there.
She bit her lip, smiling shyly up at him, “I …I would like that,” her blush deepened, “I would like that a lot,”

...except that it was, it totally was, and he knew that, and he wondered if he could ever explain to Liz exactly why, and...
He just sort of looked at her for a long moment, then, the relief and gratitude almost radiating off of him as brightly as his blushing cheeks and stupid smile, already starting to think ahead, and how it was going to be perfect and he couldn't wait to...
He laughed, then, shaking his head, reminding himself that this was still days away now, and they still had the days in between to enjoy with each other, and he leaned in to give her at least one more kiss.
"Good," he said. "Then we have a plan."

He did, eventually, though, break enough to comment, with a faint grin, "Good thing I got sushi. We don't have to worry about our lunch getting cold."

When Prompto pulled apart and made the remark about sushi, she couldn’t help but laugh at that, “that was rather good planning,” she told him with a grin, “it’s been a while since I’ve had sushi,” she added.
no subject
"I wasn't really sure what you liked," he admitted, and, really, he hadn't even be sure she'd like sushi in the first place, but he figured it was a risk worth taking and who didn't like sushi, anyway? "So I just got a whole bunch of different stuff."
His method of just getting a bunch of things and seeing what Liz gravitated toward had been working pretty well so far, after all! And eventually, he'll have made it through all the dining options on the island and would have established certain favorites or just have to start getting really creative with it.

“I don’t mind most foods,” she told him with a grin, “I like trying different things except,” there was a slight hesitation, “well I don’t like vanilla ice cream,” she admitted and felt rather embarrassed since she knew it was an unusual quirk that she had about it.

But he wouldn't exactly say no to vanilla, either.
"What's wrong with vanilla?" he asked, shifting through a few of the containers until he found the spicy salmon one he'd been looking forward to digging into for himself.

And it was definitely making him even more glad he hadn't made any unfortunate ice cream missteps yet.
"Oh," he said, now frowning thoughtfully down at his salmon roll, not entirely sure what to say to that. He definitely wasn't going to try to get her to explain it, especially if she said she couldn't really. So he just sort of looked over with an uncertain smile and shrugged a shoulder. "No vanilla ice cream, then. That's...I think I can manage to remember that."

Crying over eating vanilla ice cream was probably going to take a back seat for a while.
