Superheroing- Community Center- Wednesday am

Kitty had sent a message out to come in costume if they had one (and if not, just like, feel free to dress up for funsies), so she was hanging out in front of the class today in her own costume.

The squirrels should get a kick out of today.

"Today we're talking about superhero identities," she said. "Code names. Costumes. What people hear and see of you. I have put a lot of thought into both of those over the years, and now I don't have a code name and I wear this." At least she had a sense of humor about herself. "I became an X-Man when I was thirteen so I've had some questionable ones, some of which were given to me. I was Sprite, I was Ariel, I don't even know why anymore, and for a long time I was Shadowcat, which I still get sometimes. The less said about some of my costumes, the better? So today I want to know why you are who you are, or who you'd be if you got to choose."

What's your costume and why is it that? What's your code name and why? And if you don't have one or want to change any of this, what would it be?

One costume had roller skates.

Steven didn't normally put the suit on unless there was a need for it. But he supposed class counted. All the same he kept the mask off. It didn't change how the suit worked but it felt more personal that way.

"Er - this is it. Suit," Steven said, gesturing towards it. He was rather proud of how it looked. "Came with the deal. Does the healing, powers, and the like."

Steven didn't have a code name so he didn't bother getting into that. Sure the official title of Konshu's avatar was Moon Knight but Marc could keep that one along with the uncomfortable looking ceremonial armor.

Once again Steven lingered after class. Since it wasn't needed anymore, Steven dismissed the suit. Which, if Kitty happened to see it, looked as though the suit disassembled into linen strips and then vanished somewhere behind Steven's back. Thus Steven was left in one of his normal outfits.

"Hello? If you have a moment?"

"So you don't get a choice in it at all?" Kitty checked.

"Sure, what's up?" Kitty smiled.

"I did, actually," Steven said. He gestured towards himself. "I imagined what the suit might look like and here we are. Couldn't pick the color though. But I think the white looks quite smart, so no complaints really."

Ignore the part how part of why it looked the way it did was because Steven had completely misunderstood what was meant by the word "suit."

"I hope it's not presumptuous," Steven said. He started digging in his satchel for something. "Only this is the last I'll see you before the holiday. Not sure if it's the right dates for your world. It isn't for mine. But I figure honor it where we are, yeah? So - er - "

Steven pulled out a gift bag, inside of which were apples and small jars of honey. "For you. And your family. I don't know how many it is so I hope it's enough. But, er, you know. Sweet new year to you all."

Steph had dug into her box of LARP stuff and put together a fairly impressive bard costume, complete with a fancy hat, a hand drum dangling from her belt, and a very large quill pen. Maybe the large pair of headphones around her neck seemed incongruous with the rest, but hey.

"So I obviously don't have an actual costume, but if I were, this would probably be it," she said, cheerfully. "Maybe with a fancier portable drum kit. As for a code name, I go back and forth about having one but I'm leaning towards not ~~because my player is too sleepy to think~~."

Steve gestured to his suit and smiled a little ruefully. "Hello," he said, dropping his voice slightly and sounding Very Patriotic. "I'm Captain America. Hopefully you've seen me saving the world and not in your physical education classes where I talk about the horrors of gingivitis."

Nick Fury was a petty, petty man.

"When I sprouted talons, I sliced through just about everything I owned," Miguel said. "This," he gestured at his black and red spider-skull outfit, "was the only thing I owned made of UMF. It's an old Dia de Muertos costume. Except the scraps of low-grav netting; got those off a Thorite. Buildings get a lot taller when you're jumping off them; it seemed like a good idea."

"I love it," Kitty said, because of course she did. "What do you do with the quill?"

"Tell me that's real."

She had not seen them. She would Google.

"I'm very much here for the practicality," Kitty admitted.

"Oh! Thank you," she said, sounding a little surprised, reaching for it to look inside. "I haven't actually gotten this in Fandom ever."

"It also looks pretty cool," Miguel admitted, smirking.

"I'm sure plenty felt the sentiment, if not the gesture," Steven said. After all, Kitty was a kind person so he could only imagine people wishing her well. "Anyway. Hope I didn't overstep. If it's not to your tastes you can give it away, of course. No hurt taken."

"Oh, they're real," Steve said. "Tony has every single one."

Steph twirled the quill a couple of times in a flourish.

"Write up plotlines, or draw some cool creature, like a storyteller," she said as if it were obvious. "I'm like a support kind of hero. I'm here to keep people's morale up, or maybe inspire them a little bit to do cooler and more badass things."
