The Perk, Monday Late Morning

Yes, once again the cat (who now had a name, Watts having taken the weekend to settle on the one he felt best fit) had shown a complete disregard for what was a reasonable time to be awake. So once again, here was Watts, giving in to the need for a caffeinated beverage stronger than the tea he had on hand and ordering a peppermint mocha.

Once he had his drink, he settled in at a table and took out his mobile telephone and his notepad in order to do a little research.

Steven had been quite busy around town and decided he could use a hot drink to help with the cold.

Of course any thoughts of ordering were forgotten when he saw who was there. He beeline for Llewellyn's table. "Hello, you."

Watts looked up at the sound of Steven’s voice. “Hello, you,” he replied, beaming.

"Fancy finding you here," Steven said. "Are you busy? Would you care for company?"

“If it’s your company on offer, always,” Watts said, already standing to pull a chair out for Steven to sit. “Not too busy that I can’t take a pause for some conversation.”

Steven started to sit, then remembered why he was there. "Wait, let me get my drink first. Do you want anything?"

Yes, Llewellyn had a drink in front of him. That wasn't going to stop Steven from asking.

“Something from the pastry case wouldn’t go amiss,” Watts admitted. “Whatever you think looks good.”

That worked out since Steven had been planning on bringing Llewellyn something from the pastry case regardless.

"Right, back in a tick," Steven said. He left his coat on the offered chair then went to place his order. In a few moments he was back with a hot chocolate for himself and two apple cinnamon muffins for the both of them. "How's this? I know so many are thinking December already but I'm still enjoying autumn."

“Perfect,” Watts declared. “Thank you, darling.”

"Of course," Steven said. He saluted Llewellyn with his cup of hot chocolate before taking a sip. "So how's our new friend?"

“He takes after Mr. Spector when it comes to a fondness for mornings, it appears,” Watt informed Steven. Hence the coffee!

"Oh dear," Steven said. "That happened Saturday as well, didn't it? Marc said he saw you."

“Mm, yes,” Watts nodded. “Not his fault- the cat’s, I mean. It isn’t as if he can tell time.”

Although he had already developed a working knowledge of when mealtimes were, so perhaps that statement wasn’t entirely accurate.

"At least he's feeling brave enough to make himself known," Steven said. "That's good progress, isn't it? Not spending as much time under the couch?"

"He came up and kept me company on the couch while I was reading last night," Watts reported proudly.

[hasaknightjob]

"That's sweet," Steven said. He smiled at Llewellyn. "And he's got good taste. It's very nice curling up next to you while you're reading."

"Taken a survey, have you?" Watts asked, amused.

[hasaknightjob]

"Every one of us who's done it likes it," Steven pointed out. "That's me and the cat. Unanimous."

[pocketpretzels]

"Mm, sounds fairly definitive. Can't argue with that," Watts decided.

"You're outnumbered," Steven pointed out. He took another sip of his cocoa. "Have you and he agreed on a name yet?"

"As a matter of fact," Watts said. "We have settled on Raphael."

[hasaknightjob]

"Raphael," Steven said, committing it to memory. "I'll be sure to greet him with it next time I see him. It's a good name. I think he can pull it off."

"Agreed," Watts said, pulling apart his muffin and popping a bit in his mouth. "It has a certain gravitas to it, and he's a serious fellow."

[hasaknightjob]

"Serious but loving under all that," Steven said, not thinking of any possible similarities Raphael and Llewellyn might have in common at all. Perish the thought.

"I certainly can't argue with his taste in that regard," given how quickly Raphael had taken to Steven, after all.

[hasaknightjob]

"Bit like you in that he's warm and nice to hold as well," Steven said, giving Llewellyn a look which could also be described as warm.
