Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Tuesday [11/29].

This weekend had been all about prepping the shop for December, which meant switching out everything in the display case with nice little boxed sets of throwing stars or daggers of various color themes and fancier designs, of keeping good add-ons like sharpening stones and polishing oil close at hand, rearragning the weapons wall to feature the more popular gifting weapons (axes were always a good sell, this time of year!), and (most importantly of all!) keeping a flamethrower very close at hand at all times.

She'd also, of course, dragged out the good old sandwich board to put out in the street in front of the wide open doors and windows of the forge, although it was a shame it wasn't quite cold enough where she could rely on the nice heat from the shop enticing people to stop in for a bit based on the warmth alone.

And with that, it was back to anvil, where she was going to finish following a little thread of a thought she'd had about metal wreaths that, even if no one was into them, would be a lot of fun to make because of all the delicate little handiwork on forging and detailing all those little leaves.

The Forge is open!

"Got anything for mediocre villains?" Irene wondered as she wandered into the forge today.

Maybe this was the year she learned what the hell to do with shuriken, though, given that lovely display. Besides admire them and flirt with the person who'd made them, anyway -- she was good at that.

"Amaya," Irene replied, nodding back in a fairly spot-on (she thought, anyway) imitation -- though the grin she flashed at Amaya was all her own. "Getting a jump on holiday orders, I see. That looks pretty."

She lightly pointed towards that leaf Amaya'd been working on, already crossing over to get a better look. Lightweight, intricate work had always been kind of her favorite thing about what Amaya could do; weapons were a whole lot of fun, but the details were what always caught Irene's attention.

"I might know someone," Irene commented, sidling up a little closer to examine the silvery leaves. (Correction: she was someone. Irene didn't give many gifts, but she did like treating herself, and displaying Amaya's work either in her own flat or the shop seemed like a wonderful way to decorate. Especially since -- yes, she was more than a little fond of the artist.) "I like how they catch the light -- that'll look nice alongside fairylights or candles. Little bit different from the traditional greenery. Less pine sap all over, too."

"Little bit of an upsell never hurt anyone," Irene suggested. "Some with lights, some without. And naturally it looks sharp enough that it might be useful in a pinch against -- you know, sub-par villains and the month itself."

Did Irene seem, perhaps, a tad amused at the idea of fortifying oneself against December in its entirety? Maybe that was fair, considering she was pretty sure she knew what Amaya's largest objection might be, and that was only one day.

Though, Irene had also not been here for the murderous inflatables, either.
